Fx transfer port and prope mod.

25 cal Huma dual port and the original FX single hole port.....the oring size is not the same. If this my story keeps this way I am going to get emotional :\

I want to put back the FX brass piece on the barrel (until I collect all the Huma dualport piece parts), grabbed the Huma oring but that one is loose inside the FX hole groove. And my original FX oring is down on the floor somewhere since I last time degas, I cannot find it.

Anybody can help? What is the Huma 25 cal small oring size I shall order a bag for spares? I sent them an email but may take some time for reply.

what the…… WHY does Huma uses a smaller o-ring?? They gonna send you a new one with a bigger hole. Than it will be even worse with the 2 small o-ring.

Think that it isn’t according to plan @ Huma-Air.

Just got an email back, Huma says " We use the same 6.4x1.3. "

I have the only one, the Huma oring (lost the FX on the floor somewhere). Put it in the Huma brass piece the pellet probe moves by finger nice snug fit. Put the same oring in the FX brass piece the pellet probe feels noticeable looser. OK, it could be a same oring but definitely the sliding feels different with a same FX pellet probe.

This shallower oring groove is related to a smaller hole size because the "tool tip has broken of". Huma responded they will fix it, my new part is in the mail.

I have nomore time to play further with this, when a new part arrives I go from there.

Again I just learned something new, do not apply loctite until very end ! ;( also last night I watched the Krale video, the guy is completely removing the stress from barrel and pulling out the liner a bit before he starts heating up the loctite. Gotta try that way next time, but makes sense.

So far even with this my hickup with this brass piece I am still confident with Huma, when you hold the part in your palm you can see it was well engineered.

I ran out with spare orings waiting for couple bags in the mail, I must remember somehow nomore degasing with a trigger :) and only tomorrow testing. Stupid Canadian laws, cannot shoot the air rifle in my own house over night ;/

So, I shoot my FX Impact MK2 PP 25 cal for a very first time (still winter here at my place so I am talking basement hobby), I could not collect all my parts I was planning for a first start setting it up, everything is factory "tune" whatever they call it but I assume they just put it together by design drawings.

This thread is already way too long, let me open a new, some new users to FX (including myself) may have a good use from my experience.

BS, you people dragging me deeper and deeper into expense :)

Only a hint, now I need a 10 mm steel plate for backstop ;(

Spyde82 and Weatherby?

Can you share with me please your trick with the pin style pellet probe?

I got the part yesterday from friends machine shop. So the pin is longer (from the original) for 1.5 mm to push the pellet skirt all the way into the barrel. But now doesn't clear the magazine, for that same 1.5 mm. Either your pin is shorter? or you reworked the total moving stroke?

Edit:

Never mind I figure it out.

Anybody shooting flat bottom solids and made this pin, can you run some numbers on the chrony

No basement to shoot ? Even in house ? Its not allowed ? 🤔

I am glad to have found this topic because I am waiting on some parts from Huma, split port being one of them; and I am hoping that I will not have any of the size issues that big HUN had. My gun is a .25 cal Crown Continuum. It will be interesting to see what kind of FPS improvements I get and those of you that have .25 and have modded your Huma split ports, please let us know if it is worthwhile or not.

Cheers from New Zealand!

Hi Hande,

I wrote to Huma about the issue you highlighted. They told me that they made it so it would fit both the older style and the newer style units. Apparently FX had changed the design slightly, so Huma made these to fit both versions. Basically for the new ones you just need to pull your TP up a bit so it will clear the magazine and tighten it down there. I have been using mine like this and it works fine.

Hey there @spyde82 and @weatherby

I see that you guys did a bit of modding to your Huma split port TPs and I am wondering how much improvement you got and what your final thoughts are on them?

I got a Huma TP and out of the bag it only gave me about 20 FPS in .25 cal in my Crown. After re-reading this thread I plan to go take some measurements and see if the internal diameter is smaller than the original FX TP. If that is the case I might try to see if Huma wants to send me a new one. It works, no doubt there, but it is hard pushing the pellet through. Some have said that the pellet actually hangs on the O-Ring inside, while others say that a smaller diameter squeezes the skirt. I will certainly need to look closer at this.

What I am really interested in is what folks have done in regards to rounding out the edges and transitions on the Huma TPs? When you look at them there is certainly room for rounding corners to try to improve laminar flow potential, and also there does seem to be a bit more meat that can be taken out to increase overall air volume.

Any hints, photos and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

The pin probe in combination with Huma dual port ... will give you some extra fps, not a big % different but "just some" 20-30 fps plus. This with 34.9g JSB and 700mm barrel @ 117 bar on reg.

I have a 25 cal. If I would need higher power I shall start ordering more parts (hammer, springs, valve seal comes to mind quickly), modify the dual port and eventually the valve seat as well. For now I don't want to dig so deep into mods.

Btw, just got from Huma a matching set of new dual port with their modified (black) pellet probe. Installed but not tried it yet.

Triggertreat

the pictures you see with the hole opposite

was a normal brass transfer port as is coming from the factory and the modified it like the double port of huma on the opposite side.

Thanks! Yes, I was able to get that far on my own, but was wondering why, or if there was some sort of advantage. I couldn't see one for having that many holes. Maybe just a demo to show the size differences, but I have seen some with a smaller hole opposite the dual ports, so that can't be it.

The Huma dual port by itself had no improvement on my 22 cal Dreamline Classic. The ones they are shipping now are wider than the one shown by spyde82. In fact, it looks more like his modified one.

I just received two Huma ports yesterday from Trenier Outdoors. They may be from old stock as they don't look as wide as the pictured mod or even close to that.

The one thing I do like about these Huma dual TP ports is that the O-ring groove must be shallower as the probe fits more snug. The OEM probe and port is very loose together. I just replaced the breech seal 100 shots back or so. I don't see now how air is not getting past the loose probe. It's been pushing 70 FPE in .25 cal, so not too terrible. I think the Huma will be better with the tighter tolerances.
