FX taking over the market?

"BayStYat"It's all about marketing. Most people buy on looks. I'd bet that if the most accurate Airgun was not eye appealing, it would not sell. We would spend more $$$ to make the eye appealing rifle more accurate before just buying the ugly one.
I think that is a big part of why other bullpups aren't as popular. Look at the Daystate Pulsar for example. On paper, it is a great gun but then you take a look at it and change your mind. The look is very polarizing - people either love it or hate it and I see more hate than love.

I don't have a lot of experience with a great variety of air rifles, But I have had a few. I started off with springers, then moved to a PCP mrod.

My two FX's are a .22 Royale 400 and a .25 Wildcat. Both are fantastically accurate. I am fortunate it that I can afford to have these two, but if I could only have one, it was be the Royale 400.

I think you hit the nail on the head , Pellet development is going and is going to be the next step.
And I and flipped out on the huge amount of people that have drank the FX cool aid
wake up and look around.
Its like I am sitting here on a Hayabusa 1340 and a guy pulls up on a 1600 cc Harley and say. I am on a Harley I can out run you,
The joke is on you , you bought the name,
I am no way trying to put down the FX guns, If you guys think FX is taking over the market ,
You guys just need to visit some other air gun sites,
open your minds

Nice, we've stopped using Apple/Microsoft as a comparison and have switched Suzuki/Harley :).

I see FX more like MV Agusta. I don't believe that they are angling to be mainstream, but I do believe that they are out to be a niche player, known for pushing PCP boundaries. (And no I'm not blowing smoke up their arse). Others that push PCP limits to varying degrees are Daystate, AirForce & Evanix etc
The majority of airguns are springers, they have a huge market share, shoot at ranges up to 50 meters (55 yds) and are difficult to master (but very rewarding). This is the realm of Crosman, Umerex, AirAfrms, Diana, Weirauch, Feinwerkbau etc.

So no, it's my belief that they are not taking over the market, however they are currently at the forefront of pcp airgun development, for example:
1. Developing a single rifle that has the capability of performing equally well at controllable power levels, making a devastating long range .25 calibre gun, equally useable at low power at 25 meters (27 yds).
2. Pushing this development further by enabling a single rifle to have the capability to swop calibres and also propell hunting arrows.
3. Pushing it further by allowing experienced users to configure Hammer Spring & Regulator settings.
4. Pushing it even further and introducing gradual and selectable rifling twist rates PRESSED IN FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE BARREL. (Again something that keeps manufacturing costs down and quality control in-house).
Sometimes the above developments have issues, (some genuine, some user error), but they are i believe, getting addressed by FX,

Griff and Widget just basically told what I was thinking when I created this, like it might be hard to admit it but Fx set the bar...now other brands are stepping up...yes they are they have to get to the bar as well or be washed away completely. Also I'm not bashing but the joke isn't on anyone...when I buy a iPhone I get guaranteed quality for atlas 2 year until the new tbig revamp....idk anything about motorcycle so I can't speak upon that but what I can say is when I buy a fx...I know I'm getting quality so there is not joke.

Apples and IPhones, I used to play golf with this group of guys that always were on the look out for the lastest thing to help them with their game. You name it special clubs, videos or any gimmicks that pro golfers get paid to push on these guys. I simply just put in hrs of practice on all phases of the game with the clubs I had, end result they wouldn't practice as they had bought their improvements versus putting in the extra work with what they already had. In the end I always held my own.
Same can be said with the group I fly fish with, they get all the latest stuff from Sage, never practice casting , and think that by just spending extra $ the gear will make them better on the river...Same as above I practice my tail off and can out fish them all, to the point where they don't like fishing with me anymore, cause I trash talk on the water lol.

FX makes good guns but I don't want one, nor do I want a Mercedes or BMW, the only gun I dream of is a Slayer, after picking one up and holding it, I have to have one, which brings me to the point of my post, If I was in need of a high end airgun I would order one that had to be built by a small US company
serving the airgun community , not just a company putting their guns into the hands of people winning matches.

The first reason why FX airguns pricing is high is ,,,In Sweden , the company taxes and employe social cost are the highest in the world.
If FX were producing their guns in Canada for, example, their production cost would drop by 60% and more.
That is why Ericson for example, have more employe out of Sweden than inside their country.
Too bad for us because we have to pay high price for FX products.

I've heard they are cheaper across the pond. Maybe I'm wrong but I'd assume the exclusive import and distribution deal with AoA keeps prices somewhat higher too.

I don't see my FX WildCat as being that expensive. Compared to my Cricket BP it was about the same cost. My AirWolf, and HM1000X LRT were both quite a bit more expensive. FX might own certain areas of the market because a particular model might be very popular, but don't think they own everything. For example if I wanted another long gun I wouldn't go with FX, I would still choose a RAW or Daystate. Among the entire FX line up the Wildcat is the only model that appeals to me. Just my 2 cents...

"marcella69"FX better keep looking over its shoulder; RAW is closing rapidly!
I would say FX and RAW are going different directions. FX is a lighter carry around/hunter rifle and RAW is a heavier/bench accurate beast. FX has all the bells and whistles versus RAW's reliable tried and true design. They both are finding their niche in the market. I own and love both of them.

LOL, You guys need to check out some other air gun site if you think FX is taking over the market.
I do think there is a boom in the air gun market,
This site seems to be all about FX guns, Nothing wrong with that!
The other sites seem to be all over the place with FX, Mutant, Cricket, Air force, and a LOT more.
Its like you go in a Harley dealer, Its 99.9 % Harleys , It does not mean there taking over the market.
