A very nice rifle entered my collection today. It’s an FX T12 in .177 caliber, the original model with serialnumber 4xxx. So it’s one of the first, still with Lothar Walther barrel, not SmoothTwist. It’s a pretty light weight piece of barking kit with a simple 3×9/40 scope on it and a 16-shot magazine, made out of plastic. So that confirms also that it’s one of the earliest models. Later FX started to use aluminium magazines. I’m going to put a better scope on it, and a silencer, but it shoots quite well I can assure you.

The rifle is extremely easy to maintain. And weighing a little shy over 2KG (4.4 pounds) unscoped, it’s a rifle that you can drag along all day in the field. With 25 joules (18.5 ft/lbs) it has enough power to send a squirrel or rabbit into the upper atmosphere, so to speak. One fill is good for 30 accurate shots, so it is a bit inefficient when it comes to air usage, but that’s something that’s fixable. All and all, a lovely little shooter.

Any more T12 owners here? I would love to hear your experiences.

Congrats on the acquisition. Looks like a shooter 🙂  My only experience with FX has been the Royale 500 and now the Wildcat, both in 25. Both very sweet shooters.
    Have fun!

It is one fine rifle for sure, and fun guaranteed! I own a FX Independence also in .22. Love the build quality, trigger and the simple but yet very effective way the older FX rifles were built. No experience with the newer models yet, but the Impact is the next that’s going to enter my collection, for sure! The Indipendence hasn’t disappointed yet, and It’s my first PCP that’s still in my collection. I just love the way they look and shoot. I hope the T12 will give me the same level of fun and joy, no doubt it will. Huge FX fan here! 😉
