FX STX SLUG LINER A 600mm 0.25

Hello partners

I need your help: I want to buy a 600mm liner slug for my Dreamline tac .25

And I would like to know if it works well with the different slugs on the market, but above all, I want it to shoot the new FX Hybrid 26gr since they weigh less than Nielsen's less past slug and they will be the weight for the Dreamline which is much less powerful than the Impact ......

I know they are not yet on the market but what do you think ..... will work well with Hybrids FX ??? ?? ?

I have been told that the Jsb exact king Heavy shoot very well but I do not want to buy the liner only for these pellets.

B, regards

I have two of the 600mm slug barrels/liners you are referring to. The following .250 NSA slugs work from this liner. Yet, it all depends on the gun, it’s tune (harmony), and the guns velocity output. I’m sure there are many more slugs that shoot well, but these are some of the ones I personally tried and my airguns had good accuracy performance with. From speeds of 895 to 960 fps.

Thanks for answering Joekool
I have enough power within what is the Dreamline ..... I put plenum, new transfer, needle cut etc and at this moment at 140bar I have with the King Heavy 34gr - 922fps and I still have something else in the regulator.
The problem is knowing if the liner slug will work with the Fx .25 Hybrids, which are the ones that in the future I will be able to buy by having these closer.
Did you try the King Heavy with the liner slug ..... do they group well over long distances?

It's hard to speculate what a particular slug will do in your gun. It's a bad idea to pick a certain slug and think it will work at it's best in your gun. It may, it may not. It's a much better idea to try different weights of slugs from different manufacturers at different velocities and see what shoots best out of your gun. Getting slugs to shoot really well is rarely putting in a slug and having it shoot great like is usually the case with Diabolo pellets. It can be a very long tedious process to get them to shoot really well. Both Dale at Varmint Knocker and Nick at Nielsen Specialty Ammo will send you sample packs to test in you gun. That's a really good place to start. I've tested them all for Nick and Dale in .25. I had some shoot really well, some shot mediocre and some shot very poorly. As Joe said, it's got a lot to do with harmony, your guns regulated pressure, hammer spring tension, velocity, the barrel and the slug you choose.

Good luck, Stoti

Totally in agreement with you, Stoti.

I thought about the FX Hybrids for their balance and their low weight for me it is easier in the future to have the hybrids before the nsa.

Harrymoreland, As you know that they will work very well if they are not yet on the market and you already know that the barrel turns are different from .22 to .25 ........ I hope you are right.

I couldn't get any NSA slugs to shoot satisfactorily in my dreamline .25 with slug liner.

I tried everything from 36 to 29 grain. It seemed the smaller weights at .249 diameter were letting air past and not sealing well - they were unexpectedly very low in power when I tried them in mine.

I have a power plenum and huma reg, and can push kings heavy up to about 880fps (58fpe) but never could get any NSA slugs to shoot well and consistently, in my dreamline .25. I've just been sticking with kings and kings heavy...

As harrymoreland pointed out the Hybrids are designed to shoot best out of a pellet liner. My experience, with my 600mm .22 Dreamlite has shown this to be true. With pellet liner A it shoots the hybrids very well indeed, with slug liner B not worth a hoot. I have read other posts verifying my experience. We have no way to know if this holds true for .25 but I would think so.

So the way I see it (JMO) if you want to shoot the Hybrids and the JSB heavy pellets you have two choices. One of the other should work for you.

1. Pellet liner A designed to shoot Mk II 1:27 twist.

2. Pellet liner B for MK I 1:20 twist.

Thanks for your help ....
Wimpanzee, you can increase your speed with the King Heavy ... files or change the transfer, cut the needle a little (lower part where it blows + double plenum and you will see the difference.

Hoople, As far as I know, the pellet liner B stopped making it because liner A Slug 1:20 twist they shoot very well the King Heavy ...... I am always talking about 600mm barrel.
I have canceled the purchase until the people who have the slug .25 liner try the Hybrids and see their result .... for the moment I will shoot with the factory one that I suppose is the pelle liner A 600mm 1:27 according to what they put in the characteristics.

Hey @JoeKool,

I find it interesting that wimpanzee felt that air was blowing past his .249 slugs and you are getting good results. If you got good results, I imagine that you did not think air was blowing past your slugs.

I have the Continuum with a 700mm barrel and I hope to try the 26.8 and 29.5 NSA slugs. I think you also have a Crown. Did you try those slugs in your Crown and how did they go?

So a similar question:

I have a standard WC MKII in .25, purchased in 2018. It has a Donny Sumo on it. All this to say, I think it has the smooth liner barrel.

Would I get better accuracy switching to a slug liner barrel to shoot JSB Hades? Would my Sumo screw on to the new barrel?

I don't want to monkey with any of the settings, as I don't shoot the gun but a few times a year, out to around 100 yds (rabbit hunting).

I do have the skills to put in a plenum and I have a crony, but no back yard range to play at.
