Has anyone tried the STX barrels on a Wildcat and if so did you see any increase in accuracy? I'm thinking about installing one in my Compact and was wondering if it made much change. Thanks in advance.
My current performance is great. So my sideways mind is thinking FX is full of BS and just trying to get more money from folks. So I'm waiting to be proven wrong or right. That's why I started the topic.
1. Greater variety of pellets in the X as compared to smooth twist. Which means you can find the perfect set of pellets rather than go with JSB as standard
2. A tad better accuracy at longer ranges. A few mm better than the smooth twist. At longer ranges the X shines a tad better.
I believe the STX barrel has the advantage when shooting heavier pellets. From what I recall FX determined that on heavier pellets the pellet was somewhat “skidding” through the rifling on the ST barrel and not picking up enough spin.
Something I saw with my Impact that was counterintuitive was that when I took off my ST barrel and put on the STX, my FPS went up, and both the ES, and SD went down
