Fx streamline powerwheel

picked up a streamline in 25 this week and one of the first things I noticed is that the power wheel was sorta sticky, also lacked defined detents once turned to the desired power setting. It also looks like someone may have had it off, slight marks on the allen bolt.

my power wheel on my streamline 22 is nice and smooth and can feel a noticeable detent/position.

was bought brand new earlier this year and supposedly never touched, but I also noticed that the fx stamp that usually lays on the underside of the air tube is facing upwards (not visible on my sl 22). Seems strange it would leave fx like this.

I was going to look up how the power wheel comes off to see if I could find the reason for the “stickness” but there is a severe lack of instructional videos on the streamlines.

any suggestions? I could always send if back to fx since its still under warranty.

Don’t cut my head off but is there a chance they sent you a refurb? Just askin

That’s kinda what I was leaning towards. The rifle shoots fantastic, just as refined as my 22. Very consistent and accurate. I am getting 900 fps with the 25.39’s and 800 with the 33.95’s, hole in hole from my 22 yard testing so far. Also dead quiet. Love these streamlines. Would like to have these minor issues resolved though. air tube stamp i can probably fix, not sure about this power wheel though.

The power wheel may need cleaning and lube. If I remember correctly from my Royale, you just remove one retaining screw, shake out the little metal ball, and then the wheel assembly easily taps out from the end opposite the wheel. If the ball is gummed up with grease or dirt, you might need to flush it out with a spray of something, like WD-40.

Got you. Seems to perform where it should according to reading and reviews. It performs at 18 ft/lb I just can’t imagine wanting much less. Would rather have medium drop from 32 to 22 or so ft/lbs.

Yes, my reply was in response to the OP, who has a wheel that's hard to turn. Cleaning and lubing will have no effect on the power level adjustment.
