FX Streamline .177 at my wits end

I have a FX Streamline in .177 with a Smooth Twist BBL.

I can not get this rifle to shoot consistently / accurately.

Scope is tight , bbl is tight, Hugget is tight.

JSB 8.44 gr DIABOLO Pellets.

I just don't know what to do to get it to shoot consistently.. I miss so many sparrows its drives me crazy. Almost at the point of wrapping it around a tree.

I have a Dreamline and its shoots so well. Never these issues.

What is the best way to get it to shoot? I shoot most shots at 40 ys at sparrows.. it hits high right, then dead on, then left etc.. Never an issue with Dreamline. We don't have wind so wind is not in play. Should I try slugs or other pellets? Probably not many Streamline shooters in .177 around.

I know people say dont do this i did put about 5 or 6 passes with a brass brush mine was doing POI was a couple here then a couple there sometimes high right low left who know where i was at my witts end cleanig the barrel didnt do it BUt the brass brush did there must have been a very small piece of lead in it that i couldnt see after i did the brush the POI has not changed since

If the advice above doesn't do the trick, start thinking about the scope.

I've had guns that made me say things that little children shouldn't hear and a new/better scope cleaned up the language.

I took a cheap scope off of a 300 win mag I bought and through it on a 10/22. I chased issues with that 10/22 for a while apparently the scope was broken by the 300.

Yes, you need a chronograph if you're going to play with air rifles. That said, it would require a huge reg or hammer spring problem to show these results. But, the original ST barrels generally only very rarely need cleaning, so I would not be too optimistic at finding that as the problem, but certainly worth checking out. And what does that leave? Either an assembly error or shooter error. But, I would first try another scope.

My first experience with a ST barrel from FX in .177 was similar. It would shoot lights out for about 50 shots and then accuracy would go to pot. Clean the barrel and it would shoot lights out again...for about 50 shots. Was consistent over the chrony, I tried mod, no mod, different pellets, etc, etc. I ended up getting rid of it. This was a Royale 400. I've not had another .177 FX gun with ST barrel since.

I've had several in .22, 25 and 30 and never had that issue before. I have heard of others having similar issues with the ST barrel in .177.

Some of my FX barrels have fouled up quickly, but those were stx barrels. If your gun is running hot, there's achance it could foul up rather quickly. A good bore polish and wax will do wonders for this. But if the gun has a poor tune or regulator issue, it could be rather difficult to sort out without a chronograph. I just use a caldwell chrono. It's bulky, but it works, and it very accurate.

Sounds like it could also simply be wind drift as well.... .177 is notorious for this, that's why I like the 13.4gr monsters
