FX Slug liner accuracy?

@ n2stuff.

The first thought that popped in my mind about your bore tightness is that your liner is in backwards. But i haven't recieved a liner myself (on order) so i can't tell you with any certainty if there is a lead in or a choke.

Pyramydair states that 500mm liners have the best results, is that fact? Hopefully not because i ordered the 700mm. Direct quote from their website "FX reports that lighter slugs will shoot better out of shorter, 500mm barrels" seems more like a twist rate issue rather than length to me.

A small question if I may. What defines a slug?

Calibre, weight, shape!

My first springer air rifle many years ago, in Australia, was commonly referred to as a slug gun (.177).

My FX Impact is happy shooting JSB 25.39gr and Cometta exacy jumbo monster pellets 25.4gr, through a X twist barrel, 1:20 twist, 90 bar, power plenum installed. Hammer preload varies by 100fps Max to Min.

My impact mk2 25cal 700mm with a slug liner shoots nsa 36.2 slugs moa a850-910fps regular @160 bar and I can turn power down to min-1-2-3 to shoot 25gr pellets at my choice of FPS and scope up or down. The luck I’m with the liner is great, I did use Bob-o tune video when he was driving back home after a good day of shooting/ tuning and that has helped me get it right more than any other information from others.

It is my impression that a pellet as it is commonly known now is a diabolo O< shaped projectile. A slug is a bullet that uses the side of the projectile rather than an expanding skirt to seal the bore. I am speaking from memory, there may be differences between a slug and a bullet by definition because i don't feel comfortable calling a boattail bullet a slug.
