FX screw on moderator

Received a couple of the FX screw on moderators for my 22 Wildcat. You need the piece that screws on the barrel, the moderator/baffle pieces and the end piece. Set up on the bench and checked that the gun was shooting correctly. It has been stacking pellets at 50 yards. Screwed the piece that mates to the barrel and the end piece with no baffles in-between. I would estimate that it dropped the sound by half and the POI stayed the same. Then installed one baffle. Sound dropped again, but not by half. I would estimate maybe by a quarter. POI dropped about 1/2 inch, but still stacked pellets. Traded baffles with same results. At this point the gun is dang quite. Installed the 2nd baffle and could not really notice a reduction in noise, but the POI dropped about 4 inch and moved to the right about 1 inch! Thought WOW! Reversed the order of the baffles with same result. At this point it was shooting about a 2 inch POI circle. Took everything apart and checked for clipping. Everything looked clean. Put it back together with one baffle and confirmed that I was still getting 1/2 inch POI drop. Adjusted the scope up the 1/2 inch and shot about 100 rounds. Everything stayed consistent. Still stacking pellets. I'm really happy with the sound reduction. What I can't figure out is why the huge POI drop with the 2nd baffle. The 2nd Baffle didn't provide enough benefit to me, so I wouldn't have used it anyway. Go figure. Another mystery.
