FX Royale vs FX impact

FX owners and users,

for my next go-to pcp, the 2 remaining on the list are FX Royale and FX Impact, both in .22 and regulated.
I think they fit the bill for accuracy upto 80 yards, airusage (90+ shots with 480cc carbon bottle) and suitability to shoot offhand. And st barrel should require less cleaning, but that may have just been marketing & sales talking...
It seems disadvantage of the impact is need to mount scope really high, which doesnt help close range shots... On the royale you can mount scope lower if you use minimags, and less o-rings than the impact so should make for sturdier design.

My experience with these is limited to holding these in the gunshop.
If you have owned both, what is your view and advise?

thanks, Mike

I'm not sure there is a large population that have owned both the Royale and Impact. I've had two Royales though and almost never clean the barrel. The Smooth Twist works, works well, and is not a marketing gimmick.

Also, they are two very different guns. I would focus on purchasing one based on what you will be using it for most of the time. I'm not a hunter but I really enjoy bench shooting so it was an easy choice for me. I picked the Royale since it won't be as top heavy and will likely be a better bench gun. Hunters will likely prefer the ability to shoulder the Impact better.
