FX question

Don't know if the high end Fx guns are more complicated then I want to deal with. But if I were to get a used Impact or crown, what does it take to turn a gen 1 into the new latest greatest? How about a gen 1 Wildcat as I already have one in .25. My eventual goal would be to try slugs. I've been waiting and watching the JSA Raptor but am about to give up on them. Hard to understand why no body can post a bragging size group with a Raptor.

I found that the NSA and Varmintknocker slugs shoot well out of the FX slug barrels even in the mid 700fps velocities. I got a good tune at 740fps with my gen2 Impact. By gen2 I'm talking about guns built just before the Impact-x. I shot lot's of sub MOA groups at 100 yards but the slugs began to tumble at around 150 yards when shot at that speed. After I checked my velocity and found it to be so low I tuned again to near 920fps. At near 920fps I can hit paint cans at 200 yards, with the NSA 33.5 HP slugs, near 50% of the time holding for wind from 3in to about 2ft.

It doesn't take much to do it to the Impact's. You just change out a few parts and then tune the gun for speed and group size. There's even a parts kit offered up on eBay now.

I don't know about the Wildcats, but if they have the ability to have a ST-X barrel liner installed then you should be able to get the new faster twist rate ST-X slug liner and also tweak the hammer weight and ports, just like you do with the Impact's and Crown's to get more air and power.

Thanks for all the help, guys. Jps, if it was only about pellets I'm sure any high end gun would be great. My Wildcat is very accurate. JoeKool, If I had your talent with tools I wouldn't be in this predicament. I'm at best, dangerous with tools. That's why I'm thinking an Fx with slug liner. Biohaz, did you tune your gun with the normal adjustments on the gun or did you disassemble it and modify parts?
