FX Price Drop

I got a similar email from Airgun depot. They have the new pricing listed for the FX line. FX Boss dropped $200, the indy dropped $500!! Royale line dropped $100. Bobcat dropped. Boss line now also come standard with the carbon fiber bottles like the Royale line. Verminator extreme dropped $300. Magazine prices dropped $30.

Pretty awesome to see prices dropping like this. The synthetic Boss was 2k a few years ago if I recall correctly. Plus the carbon fiber bottle now. Value for dollar is getting better and better all the time. The price point of the Royale / Boss line, for me personally would make justify some of the more expensive high end brands very difficult. Hopefully prices come down across the board and not just for FX.

"nwrider"The USD is pretty strong -- perhaps that has a lot to do with the price change.

Possibly, but then everyone wouldn't everyone be dropping. I think with so many models from so many different places world wide these days, competition is fierce. Could be a combination of both. Could be something else entirely. Regardless, I'll probably never know lol :)

What I don't understand is that the value of the Euro is currently going up compared to the USD. It hit low on December 14th and is now going back up so why did it take them a month to put this out. It had the same exchange rate in late November.

I would have liked to see the prices lower on the Streamline, Wildcat, and Impact. Almost like they are just trying to sell more of the guns that are not as popular. Notice that the FX revolution didn't go down in price at all....

It seems to me that they see how stiff the competition is getting. Every entry in the $599 area is taking one of their potential customers out of the market for a year or so. Umarex, Kral, and Ataman just to name a few are really serious in those price ranges. This is a really smart and necessary move for FX. They maintain the quality high ground and move lots of dreaming air gunners into buyers and don't forget cash flow is king.

I think the reason for the price drop is that there is a lot more competion then ever before. I recieved an email the other day from Pyramid Air about a new line of PCP air guns that they are now carrying. "Kral Arms" I am sure the quality is no where close to the FX guns but when you have rifles offered at $499.00 For Bullpup and $599.00 for a walnut stocked rifle, it does make you think a little. I own several FX and Daystate rifles myself but I would really be interested to see what these new rifles look like and how they operate....

I noticed this yesterday. It's about time as the prices on some of their older tired-looking models was far too high for where things are currently at in the market.

With a regulated gun like the Streamline selling for $1000, it was hard to believe anyone was still ordering their older and more expensive unregulated rifles. I'm sure there is a bunch of inventory that needs to be moved before it becomes obsolete.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next step is to drop some of the older models from the line up. I'm at least an average level enthusiast and I couldn't tell you what half of their rifles are for or why I should choose one over the other.

"comovez"Is just me, but the WildCat .22 has always been at $1,299.00. That's what I paid for in September 2015.

It appears they "Up'd" the price to $1,429.00 and make it look like you're saving $130.00.

Precision Airguns and Straight Shooters still has it at $1,299.00.

Am I missing something?

Looks like they're still $1299 to me.

This might just be me being a curmudgeon but I don't think this has anything to do with the US dollar being strong as the e-mail from AOA states. I think it's about their being more, and less expensive PCP guns coming into the market. For a time there were really only high end PCP's with the exception being the Marauger and Discovery and the Hatsan line. Now there are many more PCP's to choose from, and many of them being much less expensive that the high end models. I don't think it's a coincidence that Daystate has lowered it's prices as well. These high end companies need to compete and just can't justify the inflated prices any longer.

"comovez"Correct. But would it be considered a "Price Drop for 2017" since it's always been advertised as $1,299?

In the email I received the wildcat wasn't being represented as one of the guns that had a price drop. Only the ones I listed previously.
If you click on the link of your email, it will take you to the FX 2017 Price Drop page. And listed at the very top is the WildCat .22 dropped to $1,299.

I guess the question is more like: Has anyone ever bought the Wildcat .22 for more than $1,299?Since it's always been at $1,299.

Edit: Link to AOA indicating Price Drop

We must have different emails. My email came from Airgun depot. I've double checked and of the guns shown in the actual email, or even the guns shown in the links they provide, nowhere does it say the Wildcat was part of the price drop. You'd have to take some screen shots or share a link or something. I just don't have what you're talking about.
