FX power plenum fitting instructions

Thanks! I would really like to do it myself. It definitely gives you a better understanding of your gun. Did you install a power plenum in your impact ?

Yes :)

Broekzwans and I did it with my Impact, but proper alignment of all parts is essential. E.g. you have to fit all screws hand tight, when finished, pressurize your gun, and loosen/tighten the bolts again to get rid of any tension.

This is just one example, for someone who knows what's going on, it is doable, but it is very easy to mess things up, and that's the point where it might get very expensive.

Cheers, Gijs

If you don't even know how to install the plenum or fully take you impact apart. Why would fx send you the kit? Cause I email them about it and they said they won't sell it to me and I have to send my gun in to be install by a professional. Hmmmm......so idk why they would send you the kit.

Not everyone here is from USA. Europeans can order the kit for example here: https://www.europeairguns.com/en/component/youcart/powerplenumkit

or here: https://www.krale.shop/en/power-plenum-kit-fx-impact/

I'm also waiting for some instructions before I install it. I should get my kit in the beginning of Febuary.

Thanks to all for your contribution!

I'm indeed from Belgium and could simply order a plenum kit from Krale in the Netherlands. I will have to install 2 of them but only received the first one so far.

I've had a few other pcp's before and had to diasemble some of them to add a regulator, replace o'rings, replace a regulator, repair a trigger... I'm not an expert and have more fun shooting than tinkering but I like to understand how things work. I'm not afraid to do it myself but still would be more comfortable to do it with some support material.

Every time I had to really "dive into" a pcp, I could rely on either some instructions or videos to be sure I was going the right way.

That's what makes me a little hesitant to start right now.

Oh yeah forgot about Europe. Do you know if they will ship to the US? Fx said they will put me on their long line of waiting list and expect about 2 to 3 months of wait. Plus have to pay $300. I would rather order from Europe if they ship to the US.

Will PM you the complete video installation!

In that case, I rather save my precious time ;)

Nathaniel, my current setup is a mix between old and new, as I am pretty fond of the rubber endstop as used in the old design. (internal valve spring with rubber ball micrometer)

The new design uses the micrometer to enclose and adjust the valve spring, the internal valve spring is removed.

I am currently trying which setup is the most consistent. The velocity range is a lot bigger with the setup with rubber ball, the valve spring I have did not have a big influence on speed when turned in or out.

I am gonna make some new stiffer valve springs today of different thicknesses, and see what that will bring.

You will never get bored with an Impact :)

Two additions to the installation video which I also used to install the Power Plenum a few weeks ago:

Install the barrel before you tighten the screws down so the frame and all the component align nicely around the barrel.

Once reassembled and pressurised loosen some of the screws again so everything can settle while under pressure, tighten everything down again and check whether the barrel slides out and in easily like before the installation of the Power Plenum (tip from Weatherby which made a real difference).
