Tuning FX Maverick slug power kit

People can't be happy with that they have lol. Once 1 products became available for one gun, someone wants it for their other gun. Just like when the maverick came out with dual reg. Everyone wants it for their impact. Lol. The slug power kit was only made for the impact. I doubt it will come to he maverick or crown or wildcat or any other fx guns.

They advertised the Maverick from first day of release with optional slug power kit so that's why I'm asking.

If you want more power just get Ernest or Huma transfer port, and maybe change hammer weight.... I think there is three different weights

Yes, they are 7g, 11g and 13g. That was back in December so FX could have some updated hammers and part #'s.

I have the Ernest TP in both .22 for the Maverick and .30 for the MK3 , .30 not installed yet.

"FX Maverick owners also have the option of picking up the FX Maverick Slug Power Kit. This kit includes a heavier hammer and slug pin probes that allow for even more power and velocities for heavier projectiles."

This is from FXairguns USA web page about the Maverick. But yet to see it offered anywhere. They like to teez don't they

you can order the hammers today, just call FX. The probe will probably be the issue in terms of availability but hammer and ernest Rowe’s TP will get you the extra power quick and cheap! Hammers are 5 dollars plus shipping and TP are less than 30. Plus I’m not a big fan of the pin probe especially with shorter slugs.

Thanks for clarification Patrick!!!

Like Pieter said it's a wildcat probe, the pin probe isn't really all that needed nor sometime desired. You can simply open up the existing probe with a little dremal time. The pin probe may not seat pellets all the way and might not be able to seat short slugs straight, it's made for longer/heavier slugs with flat base only. The current tube probe will properly seat everything nice and straight by the skirt or edge of the slugs regardless of the dish or pellet cavity depth. Plus the majority of the speed gain is the TP and hammer.

7g hammer is good for reg pressure up to about 110 bars

11g hammer is good for reg pressure up to about 150 bars

13g hammer is good for reg pressure up to max or 170 bars

In most cases medium or 11g hammer is more than enough for most people.

I already did that stuff, and for free😁 The exception being, I modified the factory probe. I made my own hammer weight of 13.4g. I foresee some possible issues with those pin probes, simply due to the design of the gun. There isn't a lot of wiggle room on that adjustment, because you won't be able to get the mag in if you only make it 1-2mm longer than the regular probe. To top that off the regular probe leaves a solid 2-3mm of the slug/pellet hanging over the barrel port in .30. That leaves a good 1mm over hang with a flat based slug. Throw in a dish base slug, and it's starting to get sketchy. A ton of the available slugs out there are dish based. Don't get me wrong, I little bit of over hang isn't going to hurt anything with a slug, but it will be cutting it very close, especially with a dish based slug. Then again, the slug kit appears to only be available for .22/.25. The slug overhang may not be an issue in those calibers. The barrel ports need to be moved back a couple of mm, and that will definitely fix the issue I think. Maybe, I'm just being picky...

I did make a pin probe for .177, because I made that probe from scratch. I already had a non-FX barrel I was going to install. All of that being said, I was able to beat FX's claimed power in .177(50fpe), .22(76fpe), and .30(123fpe). In other words, FX definitely didn't overrate the power potential, fwiw.
