Tuning FX Maverick Leak

Bought my first ever PCP earlier this year...umarex gauntlet...pretty decent luck until the bottle cross threaded. Today I just got an FX Maverick shipped to me; fill it up and leaks out the 2nd regulator???? Do i have this bad of luck or anyone have any suggestions? I've watched all the videos on tuning the regulators and I haven't even got to that point because it leaks.

The most obvious...call the shop that you bought it from.

Tell them the problem, let them make a decision, and go from there.

Once you got some air in it try dry firing it couple times while it's leaking.

Really surprised they shipped any FX brand gun with ZERO AIR in it. The regulator o-rings tend to become unseated if degassed for too long. Short of disassembling the gun you need to hit it with a rubber mallet to get it to seat and dry fire once it's got some air in it.

It’s a decision we all eventually are faced with. Learn your gun now or use the warranty but still have to learn your gun later. I would follow MikeVV’s advice. Call the dealer. It didn’t work out of the box. Especially if you’re smith skills are questionable. This gun is not a Umarex.

tired to dry fire a few times but that didn't really do much....leaks to fast where the 2nd regulator isn't building at all....and I know I'm new to the pcp world....but are you being serious about the rubber mallet? or just giving me poop?

Nope, it is real. Sometimes can get things to seat with a few mallet hits (soft head so you don't mar the metal/finish) and dry-firing a few rounds (only if there is pressure in the air tank).

If you don't feel comfortable doing this (which I can completely understand) then get it back for warranty repair.

What Odoyle meant is to hit the butt (shoulder pad) of the gun not the gun itself . Is it leaking from that area with the red arrow in the picture ?

Do not dry fire the gun with ZERO AIR in it. For sure you gonna get leak problems dry firing FX without any air.

Nope Rubber mallet trick works in most cases.

If the gun was dry fired with ZERO AIR just to play around with the trigger even before trying to fill it with air them it was definitely user inflicted.

I didn't do any dry fire without air...I filled the tank and then tried dry firing a few times like you said. at the time of doing the dry fire the 2nd reg was at 110 bar....and the leak just kept getting worse and now the 2nd regulator won't even fill at all

It's not the end of the world...just got the gun today so i was looking forward to trying it out this weekend while the weather is still nice. I'm sure I'll probably just end up sending it back and waiting for it to get repaired. Thanks for all the suggestions though....much appreciated!

Keep everyone posted but if it were me I'd be banging the living crap out of it and firing the hell of it while filling in hopes of it sealing itself and stop leaking. Seriously!

The regulator is quite simple, take it out to inspect and grease with silicon grease.

if you send it FX it will take you a few weeks to get the gun back or learn your gun and fix it in an hour. Highly unlikely you need to replace any oring but might need grease or isn’t seated due to not enough grease.

Looks like your right qball....taking it out looks like 1 of the o-rings is bad/gone. But where does a person get replacement ones?

If you can send me the O-ring size I will see what I have in my FX O-ring kits and send it to you ASAP.
