NEW FX MAVERICK: Any thoughts?

This gun is not meant to compete with the impact....completely different!

Its Basically a Wildcat Mk111 with a huge dual reg plenum and a bottle! ...and all tactical looking !!!

Think I still want Crown Mk11...

It's a tactical, tunable, forward cocking, lead flinging device with many of the same parts, similar performance numbers and a lower price - it's competing with the impact alright.

In fact I really can't see any difference at all in target market apart from including more of those who couldn't quite afford the impact previously and would have gone for an RTI etc.

Maybe it's a little rougher/less refined, but I'm doubtful that'll make the several hundred (thousand where I'm from) buck difference. Despite what Dubber said in the video I've never heard anyone say an impact trigger is better than a wildcat's. It's usually the opposite, linkage or no. So basically the only potential refinement difference I can think of is likely to be the distance of the hammer smack to the shooters ear. Maybe the lack of a valve adjuster will make a big difference in ease of tuning, maybe not

Target market!!! That's FX in a nutshell!!!

They are by far not the best guns out there...But they definitely have the best marketing by far worldwide...the transformer Lego land guns for the guy that's never happy with what he has!!! Lol

Lol absolutely 😆 Their marketing is superhuman

I’ll stick with my Impact.

Sigh . . . it's a bit of a double edged sword with FX. They innovate like crazy and bring more new models out more quickly than any other brand - this brings new features & functionality to our hobby while keeping the other brands on their toes. But at some point, it does become a bit much. I just reduced my collection to a handful of rifles that I thought would hold me over well into next Spring/Summer. Two of the rifles that made the cut this year are two Impact MkII's in a 0.25 500mm compact and a 0.22 600mm slug setup and I love them. I got every aftermarket accessory I wanted for each and got custom cerakoting done so I thought I was all set.

Then the Maverick rolls out with new features and at a price point below the Impact! I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't curious to grab one and the reality is that I'll likely have one in within the next couple of months. The two Impacts I have are both less than 3 months old and I won't get nearly as much for them if/when I sell one to potentially replace it with a Maverick (or Delta Wolf).

FX deserves a medal for continually laying the golden egg. Everything they put out sells out immediately. What a marketing machine. Wish they sold shares on the NYSE. I'd invest in that. They are masters as well at machining/manufacturing. Brilliant stuff they turn out.

My Impact has been fun and frustrating at the same time. I pick up my Kalibrgun and shoot it. I pick up my Impact and adjust or readjust it. I'm not jumping on the band wagon with the Maverick....yet.

If they prove reliable and consistent and accurate, than the Impact, I'll jump ship.

Hoping to see some targets and read some user reviews soon.

Well done FX

They are great at there marketing. Do you think the release of this new model at this time may also have something to do with the fact we are about to see the Daystate DeltaWolf hit the shelves????

Also maybe introducing dual regulator’s has something to do with competing with the DeltaWolf’s system which also has 2 controls over air delivery? The huma regulator and the electronics

I was thinking the exact same thing. The Maverick doesn't have to compete feature-to-feature with the Delta Wolf, but it is the same form factor (making its visual appearance consistent with what a potential Delta Wolf buyer wants), and it is available now! When I spoke with AOA last month I was basically told that if I hadn't already pre-ordered a Delta Wolf some time back, it would likely be late Spring or Summer before they could get me one.

I bought a Maverick the day it was announced because it seemed to have some excellent characteristics/features, I own FX guns and am very pleased with their accuracy (and generally with their power), it seemed a reasonable cost for what it was, and it was available.

I also fly drones, and FX really seems to the air gun world what DJI is to the drone world. DJI will launch new drones just before the competition, to take the wind out of the competitor's sails (sales). They will at times sell their product at a loss to kill competition. Their marketing (and therefore their sales) have been so effective that it brings in a lot of cash to develop new products, many of which are cutting edge and far ahead in capabilities compared to their competitors.

Just arrived today my new Christmas toy

Looks just as robust and well designed in person?

I don’t know if it’s just me but I can see the black anodized color on the action is diferente from the center and bottom part, nothing wrong with that as long is a tack driver without issues. I like it!!!!

I can see the difference. Different alloys and different machined surfaces will result in different appearances and shades of hard anodizing, even with the parts being anodized at the same time.
