Does anyone one know how may turns are on the clock spring in a 18 shot mag? I took it apart and the spring-sprung. After a couple of hours, I got it back together and it works but I want to know if I did it correctly. I spun the inside part of the magazine 5 times, and it felt about the same before it came apart. I just want to know if it is the right amount of turns. I was warned in one of Tominco's videos about this but thought it wouldn't happen when trying to remove a stuck pellet.

I never counted the OEM setting, but I feel it has to much spring tension on the 1st pellet, so I adjusted it till it had enough spring tension to rotate the last pellet so the 1st pellet had less spring tension but enough to feed all the pellet.
if you have a semi auto you want more spring tension to keep up to rapid fire mode.

I only put whatever tension on my springs to get the spring lined up with the holes on my 22 mags. It helped a lot with accuracy and smoothness of the cocking cycle.

My Monsoon recently started jamming or not cycling properly.... wonder if I should check the magazines.
Shroud and everything else is clean and in order but it will not cycle.

I always take the fx magazines apart, and like ER says, use just enough tension to cycle a full magazine. Even then, if bench resting or hunting long range, I shoot the first pellet where it won't count- that first pellet has enjoyed the full force of the spring tension and can be that aberrant shot that you wish you could take back.

Rather than shoot the first pellet (if it's been sitting in mag a long time) I just drop it out before installing the mag.
