FX M3 or Uragan in 25 caliber

I am ready to buy my next PCP air rifle. I currently own a Daystate Red Wolf- 22, Brocock Sniper HP 22, and Kral Puncher Empire X 25. I enjoy shooting all 3. The Kral is an excellent squirrel gun. The 25 caliber has captured my heart, and I now want to shoot 25 caliber with less than 1 inch groups at 100 yards.

Which is the best choice, in your opinion?- FX M3 Sniper or Uragan 25? Cost is not an issue, I can afford either.

Any opportunity to handle and, better yet, shoot both? Reach out to see if some AGN member local to you has one which you can try?

I had an Uragan and could not shoot it accurately worth a cr@p. It was not the gun - and I loved the U's power, build quality, trigger, etc. But it was the interface between me and the gun.

It is likely that I could have gotten over that in time, but I had other similar form-factor guns which I could shoot more accurately, so I sold the Uragan. Like they say, 'beware the man with one gun', but I'm not that man so when I get something that I don't bond with pretty quickly, I sell it. Life is too short for air gunning to be work, and not fun. YMMV

Most likely not. I may try to go see a Uragan at Georgia Airguns in June, when I am in that area. I really like the form factor of the Kral Empire X and can shoot it in the field, from the shoulder, with ease, though.

Great comments, all! Thank you!

Aloha D-Blues,

If your going to be in Georgia I would definitely stop by and see Charlie (Georgia Ariguns) I bought a cricket from him and what he did to my gun was awesome, I bought a uragan from him also. Both guns shoot lights out, he does his testing and finds the pellet that shoot accurate, my cricket loves jsb mk1 and uragan loves jsb mk2. Although my cricket is the original rear cocking lever, my uragan is easier to cock being forward, hence the cricket 2 which now has forward cocking lever. I do shoot my uragan much more being that it has a bigger air tank. Either way you go you will have no regrets, let Charlie know what type of shooting your going to do and he'll tune it for you.

Aloha, Keone

My wife has the Uragan compact, I have a maverick compact 30 and r5m long 25. Honestly I really really like the Uragan. The safety position is a big plus for me, it’s located in the trigger guard. So if I’m putting the stalk on something I can wait till I have the scope on it to click the safety off. I have really considered getting a 25 Uragan and selling my blue laminate r5m long(yes it shoots very good) the Uragan just fits me better.

Jimmy, (Wiseguy) first peeked my interest in the Uragan quite some time ago. More recently, Cedric, (Tofazfou) picked one up and was thoroughly impressed. (He is very hard to impress I can tell you)! Even with his rather large collection of high power customs, the Uragan has become his go too gun. That says a LOT!

I finally had the opportunity to pick one up for myself. Woah, Fantastic trigger, Polished bore from the factory, easy to shoot off hand and heavy enough in the rear to do very accurate bench work.

To top it off, the choke is very slight, allowing slugs to be accurately shot in it. Mine is a laser with my own hand cast HP's. I wanted an impact, but went with the Uragan. I am now convinced it was the right decision for my uses.

Shooting .25 slugs up to 94 fpe so far.😎 And deadly accurate. POI shift simply is not there. Rock solid like so many of the eastern European Guns. And I really like the rubberized feel of the stock which is silent in the woods wit a very warm feel to it. Nice!
