Mine does not ... actually I believe all standard mags I have (0.22 0.25 and 0.30) are plastic, the 0.22 is silver but still plastic.
Looks like they change that

I will stick with my "Proven" SideShot mags for now. Like the wise old saying states - You get what you pay for.

I’m also sticking to the original but if I see the new ones are holding up I may order a few . Hopefully they didn’t cut too many corners in order to get the price down. I also would think if any problems were found unless it was critical FX might let it slide until the next generation arrives.

Original? I believe is the original since FX made a business with sideshoot, and now they are producing the mags more massive ergo less cost. But is always good to be caution about new releases...
All I can say is that I have test for a month the 0.22 mag (on my Impact Mk2) and cero issues.
And I am on the waiting list for 0.22 0.25 0.30
