FX Impact X Mismatched Serial Numbers?

I'm not stating anything here as known fact, just sharing my belief or understanding. I thought the number engraved in the trigger block under the trigger guard was a date code, not the guns serial number. The date coded trigger guards were implemented when the first updated regulators began being used in manufacturing. If it's original equipment, the date code on the trigger block would indicate the approximate time frame when that serial number gun was manufactured. I know my first new Impact X did not have matching numbers, and I never thought they were supposed to. I will check the second new purchased Impact X and see if they somehow match. I would be totally surprised if they do. It would destroy the date code understanding.

Now that would totally make sense. The number does look as if it could be a date code with a "0" after "18".

Hey Everyone!

We just wanted to chime in, since we see some confusion.

The serial numbers should be different between the trigger guard and the rear block. They both have their purpose; the serial number on the trigger guard dictates you have the long (16mm) regulator piston, whether that be in an original regulator (Gen 2) or an AMP regulator (Gen 3). The serial number on the rear block dictates not only the official serial number of the rifle, but also whether you have an AMP regulator or not (started after serial number 183534).

In other words, the two numbers should not match.

@FX-USA - thank you for clearing up the confusion! I think the world was getting close to DEFCON 2 with rumors and conspiracies.

We're safely back at DEFCON 5 😎

@FX-USA, when I called and spoke with Ernest recently, I asked about the AMP regs. He said they were just sized differently to fit in the Wildcat and Dreamline. Can you confirm what you said above about these regs being in the Impacts with serials after 183,534?

(Back to DEFCON 4 👀)
