FX Impact X .30 700mm (Factory Tuning)

Hi Guys!

its been a long time since i was here online, But ive some accuracy problems with my Impact X.

today it is a really good day for sighting in, just a calm breeze here in there, nothing Bad.

but if im shooting there are 5 shots dead on an then are 2-3 flyers, maybe its me, i dont know.

with my Bobcat .25 ive no issues, shooting playing cards at 65m or so 4 times in a row.

does anybody have an idea whats maybe wrong?

cheers

Patrick

PS: Hope my english wasnt to bad for u..

Mine has liked being in the 887-895 range for consistency with the 44gr JSB.

When groups start opening it up, it is because I need to clean it. It might take a mag to settle back in.

Thx for the plug

ok maybe ill try at That Speed, im also on 44gr. My Best group today was 5 shots 14mm ctc at 77meters.

but im Not really comfy yet with the impact.

That isn’t bad at all.

I wasn’t comfy with my first Impact and sold it, but it didn’t have accessories like my current one. Having the extended bipod rail has helped massively. I hated the balance point with the standard bipod mount on the factory trigger guard, but being able to move it out front is great. The other thing that I like is the adjustable cheek rest that you can now get. I have always liked those on any rifle, so I can pick the scope height rings I want, and then be able to adjust the cheek rest to help my consistent cheek weld. Those two things were the biggest help. The extended LOP on the adjustable stock is very helpful as well. This rifle with those items, make it much better than the original I had for bench work. I am much more comfortable with those additions. I probably would have chosen a different rifle if I had to add all those on new, but because I purchased it barely used at a good deal, I am super happy with it.

Coming from Royale and Boss it took a while for me to learn how to shoot the impact. Give it a bit of time to find a hold that works for you. You have the power plenum model Patrick?

Nice to see you back btw. (Your English is fine as ever)

I got something like this called a 1/2" picatinny riser that i cut the mount section shorter so it fits upside down on the short rail below the bottle.

I only shoot straight from the tin. I wouldn’t do any more unless I was competing and needed every ounce of consistency possible. But many great shooters on here, MUCH better than me, only shoot from the tin as well, and I can’t touch them.

That range of speed seems to be a very consistent and popular speed across people on the forums for that pellet, so that might help keep it consistent at longer ranges.

I always felt like the rifle wanted to fall over with the standard bipod mount. Just buying a cheap bipod extender off Amazon might help that problem too, with a little less cost, not sure. They also have the bipod mounts that clamp to the bottle. I think I have seen one or two of the trigger guard versions here for sale recently.

Glem must have posted while I was typing. That pic extender he has a pic of is exactly what I was talking about finding on Amazon.

Haha yeah its such a great accessory for it huh? I added some layers of electrical tape towards the end because it does rest against bottle with weight on it and the tape will keep it from scratching or damaging the bottle

When youve had the gun for a while you can add the power plenum and change a few parts and take it from 80fpe or so to 120+ and learn to shoot it again haha.

That picatinny extender is great value, the trigger guard extender from a few companies dont seem 10x better to justify that pretty high price.

Get used to it you'll love it!

So guys

i think ive found the issues.

first i managed a repeatable firm hold, then i checked the orings on the liner cause they where completely off and Last i wait a few seconds between my shots.

now its nearly hole in hole at 77m ;)

Thats excellent! Down the road if you shoot a lot the .22 700mm with slug liner is excellent with pellets and slugs and so cheap to shoot in that caliber.

That is actually what I am wanting now. Much cheaper than my .30 to shoot.

Ive found the Problem.

my gun shoots at only 860 fps, and the reg was at 110 bar.

Now ive tuned it to shoot at 881 fps, turned the reg to 125bar and the Hammerspring to 15,02mm and the Valvestop I leaf complete open.

by the way, ive opened a new YouTube channel about Airguns: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCO070HX0H3QwVSuYNj36Nqg

maybe u are interested.
