I currently have the FX Impact in .22, I really like shooting it and have been pondering either getting the x barrel for it in .25 or just outright buy a FX wildcat compact in .25. only reason I might lean toward the wildcat is if it shoots extremely well I might sell the impact. Just don't know, opinions?

I would just get the barrel in opinion. I had a .25 Wildcat and it was an excellent shooter. Sold it because there was no power adjustment. I couldn’t switch different pellet weights on the fly or turn the power down for backyard plinking. They both felt almost the same to me when shouldering.

Reading between the lines? it sounds like you're trying to justify buying the Wildcat?
It's a nice gun but nowhere near the shot count that the Impact has.

I went with the barrel caliber swap. More shots was very appealing. When I bought the impact the wildcat was just new and kind of wanted it instead but I can't fault my impact

Along with the new barrel, the Impact has so much more customizing and aftermarket suppliers (like Krafordandlypt.com) than any other gun. You can make the Impact fit you like no other bullpup out there. Keep the Impact!

Luv my .30 Impact. Wouldn't change a thing. Maybe when the short X barrel is released...but I really don't think it needs it.

I'm actually a rare breed in that I only have one pcp and that's my Impact. 30. I'm not new to the hobby but after owning a couple of Marauders as my initial pcps about 6 years ago I wanted my 1st bullpup which was my Gladius .25 and then a Artemis P15.25 and sold my Gladius and P15 and bought a Hatsan Bully in .30 caliber along w a Kral Pb in. 25 that I got a great deal on used. I sold all of those overtime and got my used Impact. 30 about 6 weeks ago. Anyways last week after reading about how many issues the Impacts may have I decided I needed a "backup " just incase. I am now spoiled by Fx and have a new to me Wildcat .25 coming. Guess what ? My impact just broke a cocking lever hinge pin !! Good timing I'd say. I think the pin actually just slipped out of cocking block so it may not be anything major. Sorry for the looong post !! Love my Impact and hope the Wildcat is just as fun.

Well, I went for the Impact .25 when AofA got the new barrels in. I have to say this, this is my favorite and most fun gun I shoot now! Easily quieter than the .22 barrel! 33grn JSBs are amazingly accurate and hit so much harder. Also less wind drift. I do not regret buying this at all and recommend it to anyone wanting a .25.

Heck, I cannot shoot the ones I have enough. Plus I am so much better when I stay with one flavor - the squirrels fear me and laugh when I switch guns.
The go to gun - as much as I love the weight and size and look of the Fx WCI - is the Taipan Vet, 22 in first and 25 in second. Dangerously accurate.
But an impact....

I say keep the Impact and get the compact Wildcat as well! You can always get rid of one later!

It all depends on what you want to do. Target? Impact. General plinking, little varmint hunting, either Impact or Wildcat. Barrel change is about $480 on the Impact, but if you are like me, you'll get it setup for one weight and caliber of pellet, and try never to change it. I have an Impact in .25, and am happy with it. Had considered getting the .22 kit, but once I make the change, it's just too much hassle to move back to the other caliber.
I'd say, get both guns and enjoy both.
