FX Impact Trigger Problem

You might have taken off the wrong cover. Take the trigger housing off located below the trigger. Take the 4 screws out of the trigger housing and with the gun upside down look at the trigger plate that the trigger comes out of.. The first screw (towards the muzzle) is your first stage travel screw. The next one is the huge screw that you don't need to mess with. Then comes the actual trigger itself. The next screw behind the trigger is the spring adjustment (probably don't need to mess with that) ... and then the next screw is the second stage adjustment screw. The last screw is your safety adjustment screw. After you finish with your adjustments and get the trigger working you will need to make sure the safety engages and may need to screw that safety screw in or out to get it working again.

I believe that you can get the gun working again simply be trying to make adjustments to the first stage screw and the second stage screw. The second stage screw may have lock tight on it and may require a little bit of heat to loosen up the lock tight
.
For some tips at how the mechanism works you can go to Ernest Rowe's web sight where there is a small tutorial on how it works.

But you can fix almost anything with that trigger with those adjustment screws on the trigger plate

Hope this helps

Good deal TJE, I know you are relieved to not have to send your gun back for repairs which could have took as much as a month to complete.

Last time I sent mine back to FX USA it took them 5 weeks to open the box ... I know because I had not heard from them for over a month and so I called and they told me the box was still sitting on the shelf ... said that they had a whole slew of guns come in at one time and hadn't gotten to it yet. I had asked them to do some warranty work on the regulator and for Ernest to give me a tune and it was shipped back with only the regulator fixed. I put a note in the box asking Ernest to tune it up for me and I would gladly pay whatever he wanted for the work ... the note was shipped back in the box with nothing done as far as the tune goes ... but then ... hey, at least they didn't charge me for it. Life does get complicated sometimes!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not commenting on FX USA or Ernest in a bad way ... they are just getting started up in NC and I know there are a lot of loose ends that appear which probably wouldn't happen in a outfit that had been around for a longer period of time ... but I'd be lying if I were to say that I wasn't a little disappointed.

Anyhoo, it is good that you have your gun working again.

"hawkeye69"It seems like trigger problems are pretty common with the Impact.
I agree. I think some of the problem is fx won’t give exact details about how to set it up properly. As in start from scratch with step by step instructions.
Before Ernest went to fx he did do a video but we need more info.
Can’t help but feel there are a lot of liability issues.
