Tuning Fx Impact trigger improvement / modification YouTube video

You can also cut the original spring in half.

But the end result is the second stage can’t be made any lighter than the ball detent, unless you want to get rid of the first stage.
After I got my impact, I was really surprised ppl weren’t critical of this trigger system. Absolute disappointment for a $2000 gun. It’s not a fully adjustable 2 stage trigger.

Agreed. Trigger is not as good as it should have been.

I have tried cutting the original spring but I couldn't get as good results as I get with softer spring.

If we could decrease the spring pressure behind the metallic ball, it may be a bit helpful.

I might try at some point of time making a new screw with metallic ball in which the spring tension behind the ball will be adjustable.

Still I got very good results from the set up I recommended in my video.

One needs very soft spring the one that I installed.

It will lighten both. Because this spring gets farther compressed as the trigger goes into the second stage.

however, it will make the biggest difference in the first stage, in the fact that it will still reset if u release trigger without pulling though second stage.

often when u clip the oem spring, the trigger will no longer reset without assistance

Thanks Jon, seems a good cheap mod to try, I’ll give it a shot.

Does this lighten the release pressure, or simply lighten first stage pull? I’m surprised nobody has made upgrade parts for the trigger group, perhaps it’s a legal liability thing? My crown trigger, polished and set just this side of sticky is 18-20 ounces. Thank you Mubhaur for the effort, always appreciated!

Once the suggested set up is properly broken in with some use, one can readjust a bit and it will become even lighter in 2nd stage too.

This setup further improves when it's broken in with use. In fact the contact points become comfortable to work with each other under low pressure. Then it becomes very good. May need to adjust slightly at that time.

I agree, a cut spring is just shorter and stiffer. There may be some non-functioning pens around here soon, not sure if they will do, but I’ll have a look.

I have developed this very light spring. I have tried the springs of ball pens but those didn't work as good.

Mubhaur, are the pen springs too soft? I will watch you video again and try to get a better look at the spring you used. Manufacturing a spring is beyond my present skill set, but I am resourceful and will source one from somewhere or something. Thank you Mubhaur, you have saved some pens from an untimely death.
