What caliber is your Impact? 600 or 700 barrel? 1st Gen, 2nd Gen, or MK2?

Mine is impact x 25 cal gen 3. I'm shooting King heavy mk2 34gr at around 850-860 fps. I get about 78 shoots before it fall off reg into the 840s and lower. Reg pressure is set to about 140 bar. Fill pressure is 250 bar. I don't clean or lube pellets. I just shoot them right from the tin. No aftermarket silencer. Just use the one that came with the gun. Scope is mtc viper pro 3x18x50 with adjustable mount.

I wonder why the Impact is always being sold here on AGN. I mean, there’s always one up for sale in the members classifieds. I have one and I like the gun, I have the .30, .25 and .22 barrels for it plus the slug liners on the .22 and .25. Really like the way the gun shoots and looks. But I never use it. I’m always using the wildcat or the hw110. Just curious why almost everyone always wants an Impact and why so many used ones for sale.

Mine is currently setup with the .30 barrel. And it used to shoot the FX Boss 46.3 gr at about 870. Last week it started shooting slower all by itself. All the way to like 590 FPS. UNTIL bottle got to about 140 bars which is right where my reg is set at. The I filled the bottle to 250 bar and now is always shooting them at 910 FPS constantly. Wonder why....

IMO the impact is not for everyone.

If you are a shoot and go the impact is not for you (crown or wildcat better) if you like tinkering and mod, then the Impact.

Sales in class are for several reasons, new impact, but most probably due small fixable failures that shoot and go personalities hate (understandable)

Regarding low fps count can be several reasons, one of them is a loose hammer seat (it get unscrew)

Impact is a F1 race car, no one race an F1 car bought out of the shop. But you can race out of the shop

My 2 cents

I like FX Masterclass w Ernest. A great service but what I’d really like to see is a “How to setup your Impact,” incl reg setup for best groups, HST for best reg setting and valve adjust Now that would be helpful and, while I’m at it, a troubleshooting video as well.

I agree with Edosan. Long guns generally for targets and Impact for hunting. But in saying that, the Impact has won many a tournament.

I like my Impact but it’s one frustrating gun, the main reason being is that it doesn’t stay consistent from day to day. One day it’s like a laser and on another it’s not but that could be me or other variables. I’ve started weighing and that does help.... a lot! It also helps with tuning I don’t see how one can accurately tune w unweighted pellets.

My Impact is shoots better than it ever has but it took a lot of work and extra $$ to get there, but there’s that consistency thing I mentioned. Right now, Shoots great, low shot count, sigh😩

More and more, when I want to just have fun and just shoot I pick up my Cricket .25. That gun is so simply well designed that it just shoots very well even after sitting for long periods I hadn’t shot it for a month or two and to my surprise, 858 av fps, ES: 4; SD: 0. Can’t locate the target but at 50y it was no more than 1/2”, and better. I have fun w my Cricket maybe it’s because I don’t expect so much from it.

The Cricket just consistently delivers. To be fair, I worked on it but no extra $. It’s stock.

Racolon, you’ve put a lot of $$$ into your Impact and you shoot your wild cat/HW110..... maybe for the same reason?

I really think, from the marketing hype, we’ve come to expect too much from the Impact and we get frustrated when it hits it’s limitations. I still think it’s a great gun, though

I think people are selling their Impacts to get the MK II, IMO

My settings are based on performance mods to my Impact, as I am a tinkerer and like a balance between high-performance and high energy output. I have experimented by doing (and modifying) several of the performance upgrades shown on this forum. That said, the Impact is shooting .30 caliber JSB 50.15 grain pellets down range using 140-150 bar at 935-950 FPS. With the Amp regulator set at 170 bar it spits out the pellets at a more consistent 970 fps, but with far less shot count because of air loss.

I went with the Athlon Helos BTR, a step up from the popular Argos. It is flawless and lifetime warranteed. I got the Atlas clone bipod off eBay and modified it a bit to suit me as well.

In response to some of the statements above, it seems that the individual who selects and stays with a certain airgun does so based on his or her personality and skillset. Some like the idea of tinkering with the setups, some chase speed, and some do not do either and prefer accuracy over speed. The FX Impact being a good gun for those who like to tinker, and it will also perform well "stock" for those who are not so inclined (if you can leave it be after tuning for a specific projectile), and of course accuracy is always there with the Impact. Some feel the Impact's price point should be lower because they are not happy with what they are getting out of it, and quality of parts. To this I say, use your warranty. From experience, FX is happy to help and replace bad parts. Whichever the individual airgunner you are, you can find that the Impact will suit your needs, if you let it. You will enjoy the Impact based on your personality or it will go to the classifieds, simple as that.

I've reset my Impact to about stock. Did a complete rebuild last winter (replaced every O-Ring and rebuilt the regulator). Very time consuming and technical. The Master Class was my survival guide. Highly recommend understand and watching the Master Class.

To give an example of the complexity of the Impact compared to other guns, a Marauder has something like 7 O-Rings in the entire gun, not counting the barrel shroud. The Impact has at least 14 different sizes of O-Rings, with multiple installations of each ring. Something upwards of 40 O-Rings in the whole gun. Most of the Impact O-Rings are pretty straight forward, but some are real bears. Lets just say that comparing the Impact to a Ferrari or F1 is appropriate. But remember Ferrari's and F1's require lots of maintenance and tender loving care to keep performing at their best. Always be mindful of the condition of the O-Rings and Valve seat.

As for tinkering, you can only tinker so far with the Impact because there are few after market parts. I'd call it more of an excelent "Tuning" platform. All the adjustments you may need are on the outside of the gun and easily accessible. Once you get it set, you'll tend to leave because there's so much work involved in setting it up.

Something like a Marauder is an excellent tinkering platform because there are lots and lots of after market parts, lots of mods and things you can do to it. Still, like any gun, once you get it setup, you'll tend to leave it.

You'll love the Impact, just shoot and get to know your gun
