After my 25 cal impact sets the first shot or two is very low around an inch. I believe the regulator creeps tank pressure into the plenum and the first shot is some what valve locked and with the power wheel on 4 it's not enough to get the valve open on first shot and is why poi is low. The reg gauge is reading 150 , and if I turn the power wheel to max it is firing to hot. 870-880 mk2 heavies , on 4 835 avg good groups. I think the only way to compensate for the reg creep is to tune the gun to shoot with the hammer spring on max.
This leads me to my question should I leave the reg alone , and put the hammer on max and try to get the power down with the valve travel to shoot at 835 avg , or turn the reg down with the hammer on max and leave the valve travel on 4 ? Is it going to prematurely wear out the valve travel adjuster having it in all the way in with the hammer on max ?
This is why I am leaning toward adjusting the reg down instead . Advise would be appriceated , I know the moderator has had his Impact for a while . Would like to hear from him or ernest .
Thanks
