Fx Impact Nelson Slug Speed!

I have a impact mk2 25cal with a700mm but no power plenum, my gun likes nsa 36.2 @850-920fps also I do have a slug liner. I found the nsa 36.2 easiest to tune out of all the slugs that I tried as accurate as the jsb 34 and the same point of impact the slugs hit hard! Hope that helps 

Same as 8thman, also 33.5’s shot real good at 880-920 for me, sub moa. I can’t get the 34 or 36 dimples to shoot at all though?.

My luck with slugs are with the large hollow points.

im also trying these from a impact mkii power plenum 700mm but seem terrible at 50yards groups scatter in about 2" ive tryed from 830 upto 960 fps and seems this is the tightest group at 920fps am i doing something wrong or is no one getting slug on slug with nsa , my tester pack from H&N .25 slugs 33gr are slug on slug at 50yrds at 890fps but there not for sale yet which is a shame

Shooting 25 cal NSA 29.5 at 895fps with small groups. The 29gr and 34.7 are not working so far.

Matt Dubber put out a tuning video for Impact few years back in which he found a regulator setting where he got the smallest groups. From there you can fine tune. Seems logical to me and takes care of the question, what speed do I start at

Bob_O also refers to MD and said that the smallest change in the reg can’t have a big affect on group size.

I can personally vouch for that and Bob_O’s videos are very good, so watch his tuning vids as well.

I finally got my 57 mm spring yesterday and put it in the gun. The loctite will have fully cured by this evening and I’ll get started. I’m short on slugs at the moment so will find the reg sweet spot with JSB 34 gn. Should apply as well to slugs as you are setting the reg at a harmonic point. Hoping my hunch is good. BTW I did buy the sample pack and the 29.5 gn Nielsen .25’s and the 38.5’s did the best before tuning. 36.2 were one of the worst out of the slug liner. And that was just over 900 FPS. The new spring will give me some headroom to play with.

Yes, publish your results please. I'm going thru the same thing trying to find the sweet spot. I have the 25 cal 600mm with the slug barrel, plenum from Poland and about everything else you can do to an Impact. I've been shooting the NSA 26.8g, 29, 29.5, the 33.5s and the 36.2g slugs anywhere from 880 to 1060 fps. The best group has been with the 33.5s at around 920. It will put 3 within 3/8s of an inch and then put one an inch off. My speed varied between 918 and 935 on that magazine so I'm still working on that. Would to love to hear what others with the 25cal 600mm slug combo are tuning at and how they're doing..

I seem to get best results with 29.5 and 38.5 gn. But unfortunately I’m out of slugs and am not sure if I can get anymore Nielsen because California is in lockdown.

If and when I get more slugs I’ll publish. Right now w 29.5 I get 0.75” at 60 m. Hoping to tighten those up more. 

NSA is operating with no plans of shut down. Motorhome is at my shop so if a further shut down I will stay at shop.

I was able to purchase Nielsen lugs this morning....very happy about that both for me and for them...................... tuning will continue.

I also have 25 600mm slug liner a, 33.5nsa i have tuned to 960/970 will do a accuracy test at 50&100 meters ASAP 

Has any body tried the 33.5 nsa with higher speeds than 920fps from the 600mm slug a barrel ?? I have this setup and hear slugs need high speed around 980fps
