I set up my new mill last night and modified my rear block and yong heng external plenum. I couldn't get the yong heng filter housing to seal on my rear block before modifying it because the threads were drilled and tapped at a slight angle. I drilled it and the rear block 1/2" and tapped them M14x1.5 in the mill so it's perfectly square with the rear block now. My new lathe won't be here for 3 more weeks so I cut a bolt and drilled it 5/16" for the connector. I'll make one with a larger passage when I get the lathe. I also milled the top of the yong heng housing flat to get a perfect sealing surface. Edosan barrel extension on the left. 👍

@mtnghost an FX block for testing m16 threads! jaja, and barrel extensions that I need to polish and refinish, in steel instead of aluminum this time.

@airsupply thanks! I broke a small piece of my teeth! guess I am low in calcium! jajaja

@heavy-impact nice!!! you are a grown man now! jajaja ;), maybe you need to cut that extension a few mm (10 probably, just a straight cut, weird in mine 600 to 700 was a perfect fit and also in 500 to 600) but maybe not. Looks very nice tho! jaja

Looks good. Could you share the dimensions please? length, width, wall thickness and alloy.

ValveHousing mod is pretty straight forward, just polish it real good if not it might get stuck in the block

Thank you. I had planned to use 2024-T3 but I will try to find 7075-T6.

I'm new to the tuning world and this is some great info, would like to start slow, can I dual port the pellet probe to start? And what about the TP, is it necessary? I have the impact x in .30 shooting 870fps…thanks!

It is necessary to have two ports in the brass pellet inlet if you have two ports in the pellet probe, otherwise you're drilling holes that don't do anything. The valve is the main restriction in .30, next is the porting and plenum.

Okay awesome! So with dual porting in the TP and the pellet probe that will allow for an external plenum?

The valve housing has to be heavily modified to use an external plenum. Start at the beginning of this thread and read all the way through to get a better understanding.

Next stage … Valve housing, so far so good. Demanding work it is… I will first test with driled hole of 5mm inside manimeter seat … let see results tomorrow …

Tested with .22 redesigns, just to mention this is 500mm barrel made for redesigns.

At 160bar… with hamer weight +external plenum with 5mm bore, TP elongated and mod pellet probe …. 950fps max speed.

Stared test with .25 mk2 600mm barrel… at 115bar speed is 890fps… 145bar 980fps no time to go more…next time for sure up to 165bar.
