I did a little experimenting with some of the new 22 cal probes that arrived today. Shaved off the bottom half on one of the probes and took the top off of the other one. The topless might be a few FPS faster on average, but the bottomless probe is producing more consistent velocity, so I'm going to field test it first to see if accuracy is up there with my double ported probe (which has been very consistent thus far).

On the topless probe did you open the intake hole to be larger than the brass port?

    Yeah, within 0.1MM.

Definitely seems more ideal to put more plenum volume at that location then between the gauge and block if possible. My personal external plenum is arranged between the gauge and gauge block but I know if a leak were to present itself it would be likely a slow release rather than a catastrophic one.

Heres a sample chart for a 700 mm .25 impact shooting 33.95's with 90% porting at various plenum volumes @ 170 bar. 70~ cc's will definitely provide you with lots of potential.

Matt can you small it a bit? From 20 up to 90cc? Thanks in advance

    Here ya go. 700mm barrel / 170 bar / 5.7mm port / 33.95 gr / 25 cal

You got nice clean threads. 👍 Ernest Rowe said he taps them M14x1.5, any reason for the finer thread pitch?

My new mill should arrive Tuesday. The lathe is coming early August.

Hi Heavy, both work fine since the seal is made on the block, more treads are better and secure, but both are good.  Nice toys you got there! Congrats!

Step 2, bigger plenum, 50cc…now mine is bigger than Ernest! jajaja OD50mm ID40mm stay tunned ;) with interchangable M14 nipple bore,  to fast test bore changes. With a 20mm nipple neck for extra security (bullet proof! now you can attach a tripod (if you like jajaja) to the external plenum without getting worried!)

PaniSd nice! if you not remove the o on the pellet probe, that is your restictor now. I recommend you remove that too as shown in other pages here, removing down half or top

Al, with good steel you can make it even larger in volume (thinner walls)

That’s why I ask. As I see od 50 mm  id 40 mm that means 10 mm walls. Right? Making it by steel will be heavy like a stone…If I follow your dimensions (od 50 and Id 40 ) how much should I make the length(height) of the tube to get 50 cc volume? I remember you mentioned in previous posts the test with a syringe but I would appreciate if you can give me the length .

    thanks in advance….
