My intention with the following information is not to harm the brand, is to call attention for them to improve quality control for us to enjoy these magnificent rifles

Cant believe a high end rifle came with so many problems.... this is a brand new FX IMPACT MK2.... this is what i found...

1. C3 bumper destroyed (replaced)
2. Leak in a screw in the main block (replace oring)
3. Tank gauge leak (bought wika)
4. Reg. Gauge reading 20bar higher (bought wika)
5. Valve housing with scratches, cant seal properly (i am in a waiting list)
6. Regulator creeps 8-10bar (bought huma reg. )

Where are the improvements?
Where is the quality control?

I am not sponsored by anyone, i am an airgun lover since 2011, i had the opportunity to test all brands and and I have never found so many problems as this time... fx announced the MK2 as the impact that comes with every problem solved....but here you can see what happened in only one rifle, when i fixed all problems, yes it was shooting good but its not fair that a 2.000 + rifle presents so many problems!!!
 
Right out the box? Unshot? Did you shoot it a while? Doesn’t matter, just the accepted fact by many that $2K guns are “expected” to have hiccups? I would be beyond pissed. Though it’s probably a fact that the majority of Impacts out there just hum along nicely. That more than a few posters are having problems with new expensive guns reflects badly nonetheless. I guess I’m just naive, I want to remove expensive PCP from box, run a few patches, mount scope and commence shooting. Don’t have time to tinker or troubleshoot (hence spending the big coin).

I am not against the brand, I recognize the work and the great contribution of the brand to this hobby, but like i just said, its not fair to pay for a rifle that you have to continue buying parts and taking down a new rifle.... One thing is when we see all those videos and competitions when impact takes firsts places, but other thing is what sometimes arrives in a nice black hard case into our homes!!!

It’s not about being “against “ any particular brand. We all recognize how lucky we are to have such companies and the variety of wonderful PCPs to choose from. It’s about the expectations created when we as aficionados take the leap into high end PCPs. Big coin, big expectations.

It’s not about being “against “ any particular brand. We all recognize how lucky we are to have such companies and the variety of wonderful PCPs to choose from. It’s about the expectations created when we as aficionados take the leap into high end PCPs. Big coin, big expectations.

I have had Diana Stormrider, Benjamin Discovery, Marauder, Airforce Condor, Samyang Recluse, 3 Edguns, 2 Crickets, Vulcan, Raw, Daystates ... I can tell you that the only ones that got me into trouble were 3 fx that I have had, wildcat, bobcat mk2 and the impact mk2 ..... fortunately the problems of wildcat and bobcat were not major details like those on the impact.

Sorry to hear you had so many problems with your MK2. My Impact came with a gauge that was off 40bar and a regulator piston that had a flat spot so my pressure did not creep it would jump up and down 20 bar every few hundred rounds. Took me awhile to figure that one out. Like after I bought a Huma. It seems to me that both of these defects should have been noticed at the factory as they were plain to see. Should a 2K gun come with all of these problems? Probly not but they sell allot of guns and we need to remember that we, that have problems, are only a tiny percentage of them. It's good that we are among those that are able to fix the defects we encountered. I would hate to be unable to shoot my spendy airgun.

I have the impact x gen 3. Both of my gauges were crap. One would read higher than the other, this is when it's off the reg. So called amp reg creep 5 bars when new. After 3 months started creeping 10 bars. C3 o ring fail. Fps drop from 870fps to 600fps. My changes were buy 2 new wika gauges, $85. A new huma reg $120. Replace c3 o ring with white plastic washer from the yong heng compressor. As of now its shooting fine. No leaks. People were complaining about these and other problems with the impact way before the mk2 was even announced. Just learn how to fix your own.



MOD EDIT: Removed derogatory comments. FX has made changes to various generations, and is always looking to improve upon itself. Constructive comments are always more encouraging than insults.

I have a brand new Impact MK2 .22 cal 3 weeks old. The C3 bumper had failed on me after 4 sessions of light shooting. I was able to follow Edosan's video and replaced the O-ring with a Yong Heng delrin oring. Thanks to 2fast for the links! 

I agreed we shouldn't have to fix any thing especially with this price tag, but I got lucky in a sense that I was able to fix it myself without having to send it back and wait for the repair. The positive outcome is that I learned how to disassemble and have a better understanding of my Impact. I am sure there will be some other issues that might arise over time, but I think there is enough information and helps available on this forum to guide me thru. I can only hope FX will improve their QC.

Like most of you I fell for the hype about the impact, I had some money burning a hole in my pocket so I ordered one. 7 months on and it still hasn’t arrived ( fx Europe you suck) during the 7 months waiting I have become more and more disillusioned about the idea of owning it. Other than the compact design I am beginning to wonder what the real advantage this has over other similarly priced guns. I now can’t think of any?

its not accuracy, the guns I have are all capable of sub moa groups at 100 yards, it’s not power, as I can get more than enough out of mine without stressing all the parts to breaking point, it’s not looks and it’s not comfort as head position is compromised.

i wish I let my head not my heart rule my decision,I would have ordered a RAW.



The only thing I can think of why I wanted it in the first place...it brings back happy child memories when I used to play with this.

I’ve had my X model in .22 for close to 6 months . I have put through roughly 1500 projectiles through the barrel , have continuously adjusted , regulator , hammer tension and valve screw. I replaced the gauges with the updated MKII because they were reading 20 bar off but that is all I’ve done . I now have liners in .177 .22 223 caliber and the Impact continues to shoot lights out . 



I feel horrible for the guys guys and gals who have spent money and got a lemon . Wish everyone got the same quality I got .

Chance would be a fine thing, I ordered mine longer than 6 months ago and it’s not here 👎 

, I shoot between 500-1000 pellet through my guns each weekend, 1 of my guns (12/200 theoben rapid) I have had for 23 years, during that time it has only let me down once at night when I was hunting -20C and it has never leaked in all that time. I would guess it has shot in the region of 100,000 pellets.



glad you got a good one, let’s see if it still shoots trouble free in 5, 10 or 15 years?

If everyone started insisting on a full refund on their brand new defective gun FX would have to make changes. I had to change the gauges and regulator on my gen 2 right after buying it. I really like the gun after fixing the well known problems. I don't care for warranties, especially ones that require me to ship my property and be without it for as long as they see fit. I'd rather have a product that works perfectly out of the box or have a full refund or exchange for a product with no manufacturing defects.

Hi guys, one month ago I posted my lmpactmk2 would not release air, so after all of you guys help l disassembled the gun to find the hammer seat or part#c1 was not attached to the valve rod. At time I thought it was only the grub screw part#c2, so after the hurricane I called fx and last week I received the grub screw only to find out that the hammer seat was not threaded? So I called fx and talked to a technician they no longer use the grub screw the valve rod is threaded! It would have been nice to know that there fxlmpact mk2 diagram is not correct! So now the parts not in stock. And there is ETA on arrival from Sweden is unknown? Does anyone know what dealership would have them so I can shoot before the weather gets too cold? Thanks again guys for being so helpful in the past.

In my case I live in Colombia, I bought the rifle and brought it with me, sending it to the United States for a guarantee is impossible, it is easier to buy another ... it is unfair to pay so much for a rifle that comes halfway, the quality control is poor .... who would like to spend their savings on a new car and have to make repairs the same day? it's the worst feeling I've had since I started this hobby, something like this has never happened to me before, obviously the videos we see on youtube are not going to show the true face of the rifle, much less in the competitions when the owners of the brand and its mechanic and tuner are there competing.... it's like buying a car and leaving the store with the owner and the mechanic of the brand inside the car just in case it fails.... when I buy a rifle, just think about buying pellets and filling it with air, same case with the car, just put gas on it and then the correct maintenance!

I beleive FX was a good factory the old days, when they could manage the production vs sales

Now the months delays make think that they put the parts together so fast thats why so many problems

Its a common problem when a small factory multiply the sales to fast

Yes they are very helpful at guarantee, but why i have to seperate my "new toy" because of zero QC ?
All these years the common problems are leaks, creep and gauges, they remain the same !
