FX Impact Magazine Takes Too Much Force To Fit

My new FX Impact X magazine seems a very tight fit

It takes a lot of force to fit into the rifle

As a result, both the magazine and the rifle are getting scratched up (pictures attached)

What could be the problem?

Just to reiterate what's said above, it's likely the barrel is in too far. Whenever I take my barrel off for cleaning, I first put in my magazine, then push in the barrel until there is light contact. Works every time.

I relooked at those scratches and it seems there maybe a different problem. Do you have more than one magazine? If you do, does one fit and not the other? I have the X model, but maybe someone could chime in with a micrometer reading on their sideshot style mag thickness. Your's maybe out of spec.

As others have mentioned looks like either the mag well doesn’t have the correct spacing which is due to who knows what or like Tom mentioned there’s something going on with your magazine. It’s got to be one or the other as indicated by the scrape marks on your magazine and the rifle’s side plate. Do you have access to another magazine? If so I’d try that, it’ll be a quick answer if it’s a magazine or an issue with your rifle. Either way definitely reach out to FX!

If you degas the gun and loosen everything that mounts to that block including sideshot mount from below (Block towards muzzle end of magazine) you should be able to slide the magazine in and make sure you have good clearance.

Then snug everything up and air it up. That should do it.

One time i took the gun apart and put it together and the tolerance changed ever so slightly that the magazine was very tight. Wasnt the end of the barrel that was the issue but above fixed it.

Edit, you can degas. Remove bottle slowly, reg gauge slowly etc.

Then just loosen these top 4 screws.

Then loosen these 4 under reg gauge.

Then slide your mag in (to get a feel for how tight it'll be) and gently apply some pressure back towards the butt pad by gently pulling the butt pad get it how you like, snug up the bottom screws then do the same to the top 4 screws that should give plenty of clearance in the mag well if its too loose for you do vice versa. Afterwards make sure all the 2.5mm head screws are tight. Doesnt need much to be tight. Tighten and align the reg gauge (doesn't need to be bottomed out), then slowly screw the bottle back on.

Thanks. Mine is super tight too. I moved the barrel slightly forward but it didn't help. I'll try this.
