FX Impact M3 vs Daystate Red Wolf HP

What length M3 is that in your video? 600mm?

Excellent comparison, including the tune stats which will have the Impact owners taking notes.

If there had been any comparison videos like this available when I first started looking for the 'best' air gun 50 years ago it would have saved me from sooo much expense and frustration.

On the other hand, now that it's so easy to find owner-produced review and comparison videos like this, I've developed a habit of buying 2 or three similar air guns to compare them for myself. And then usually sell 2 maybe all 3 of them within a couple of years to free up space and try something else. Usually smaller and lighter now, all repeaters with adjustable power. Those Daystates and Impacts reflect pride of design for the companies. If I owned them both for comparison I'd have a hard time selling either of them.

Great video I have both rifles in .177 .22 and .20. The .20 is a custom build for both using BSA Hammer Forged barrels. Out of them. I prefer them in .22. Lots of barrels flying around lol

However, the Red Wolf + tuner appears to cost almost $1000 more, hence is this really a equivalent comparison?

- With the Impact what else do you need besides the Slug power kit over OEM to get it shooting slugs effectively?

- Are messing with the Impacts o-rings that objectionable or can most DIY replace them w/o serious frustration?

Holly smokes batman ! You are right the red wolf HP in walnut is $2800 +$400 for the programmer. Wow I'm sure glad I purchased mine when the were $2300 and $300. My M3 does fine with 21gr slugs. 25gr slugs will need the reg cranked up to the 150bar rage on the 600mm barrel version. The 700mm barrel shouldn't need the regulator that high. As for the orings, I'd say they are user replaceable without much frustration. I had the Impact X for a wile and had no issues working on it. As I tell everyone that wants to get in to the hobby of PCP air rifles. You should be somewhat mechanically inclined or you'll spend a small fortune in repairs and maintenance of the rifle and support equipment.

I really liked a traditionally stocked rifle, that's why I already own Two RAW HM1000xLRT's, a BSA R10, and QB's with NO tactical set-ups.

However, I'm probably ready to try one, don't want anything semi-auto - but like all the flexibility of the FX Impact M3. Also, FX really WANTS folks to buy their accessories! Impacts haven't really gone up in price much relative to their design improvements. Kinda like printers and the ink refill metaphor. 

I don't really need tremendous power, but who knows with the vast improvement we're seeing in slug technology and the need to push them faster.



Hence, all things considered - The Impact Mk3 seems like a better bang for the buck ... unless some deal breaking issues haven't been mentioned?
