FX Impact M3 versus FX Maverick

RALLYSHARK shoots a maverick. Almost at 130 ft lbs with slugs. Find his tread with this pic-

Hey, that's me! Hahaha! The Maverick is certainly capable of some darn good power. Mine has topped out at 136 fpe in .30, and 86 fpe in .22(as of today) I think that's about as far as I'm gonna push the 'ol camo cannon. Admittedly, those numbers are using very high reg pressures, Huma extra high pressure regulators, and a few other little tricks to up the power a bit. They'll do 120 fpe without too much effort though.

That's impressive and exactly what I am looking for. It goes without saying that shot placement is key but that kill-power is what ensures a human kill.

I think the Maverick is more than enough FX gun for me and a little cheaper than the M3 to boot.

Nice hog by the way!

Thanks! There are a couple of screws that you need to put blue loctite on with the Maverick, and some minor adjustments, but it is a sweet gun after it gets dialed in! I'm actually gonna give the .22 a go on the next pig hunt I think. I've not some new 36 grain Griffin slugs in .218 to put on target. They do fit the magazines too! I just gotta find out if they'll work accuracy wise. I just ran some over the chrony at full tilt, and hit 1032 fps. 80-85 fpe will poke a very deep hole in .22 :D I only take head shots, so they'll certainly do the trick, if I do my part.

I really do love my Maverick in .30, .22, and even .177. I'd recommend starting off with a .22 or .25 Sniper, with the slug kit. That'll give you everything you need to put the hurt on some long range targets or critters! Not that the .30 isn't awesome, but FX isn't selling a slug kit for those yet. Still, the .30 is a freaking laser too!

I look forward to hearing about your .22 success with the Griffins.Ill be picking up a Maverick soon and will start with the .25.

I did some quick testing at 30 yards, and they appear to work very well. I won't know for sure, until I can stretch the distance. I'm only using these for hunting though. I use the NSA 31.2 grain 95% of the time in .22, and they're very accurate at 960-970 fps from the superior heavy liner. This is 4 shots at 1015 fps(82 fpe) with the 36 grain Griffins. I chickened out of a 5 shot group, because the first 4 were too good, haha. Again, only 30 yards, but looks very promising. Probably the best group I've ever shot...

Got to say I am jealous of that group. STILLLLL waiting for my superior heavy liner to arrive, so I am only able to get pellets out with any real accuracy at all. I have things set in the realm of where I want them for velocities with the 31.2 NSA slugs, but can't fine tune for anything until that arrives. The downside to it all right now is that I am pushing the 18.13 JSB at 1000 fps with the wheel at 0....and the 25.39 that I have are absolute garbage at any velocity. Would love to see the Redesigned out anytime in the near future. I am probably not steady enough to get groups like that one with anything, but for me this was ok with those 18.13s at 25 and 50 yards. Had a 9mph wind on me and shot a 10 round group at 25 and an 18 round group at 50.

I have a M3 Sniper in .30 cal on preorder but I have seen mention of the Maverick with dual reg, larger plenum, etc. The Maverick came out not too long before the M3?

What are the major differences between these 2 platforms? Is the Maverick designed for heavier projectiles?
M3 is more for people who like to play with everything/ insanity with perfection! Maverick is newer than M3 plus all FX guns now come with the new power block! You'd have to get the power slug kit though on Maverick to get the best achievements , like $80
