Tuning FX Impact M3 - Barrel liner and carbon sleeve stuck.

I'm wanting to change to a slug liner and I cannot remove the standard superior liner that's already installed. I'm not using o-rings on the barrel, I have the carbon fiber sleeve installed. Only a tiny bit of the liner sticks out and it's hard to get a grip on. I've even tried wrapping a little piece of neoprene and around and using pliers but It was starting to leave marks on the end of the liner. Is there anything I could try to get this liner out?

Knipex soft jaw pliers is what I'd use.

Well, my wife had an idea, and it worked. I took gaffers tape and rolled it around the end. Took a pair of pliers and grabbed the tape and did a pulling twist out and it moved. for about the first four inches it was extremely tight and then popped loose. I took the barrel assembly off and swabbed the inside of the carbon sleeve and barrel assembly with balistol to remove any possible gunk or debris. You can definitely feel some resistance in that back 4 inches when cleaning. I installed the new slug liner and again, it was extremely tight and I had to push hard to get to to seat all the way in. I wonder if the the carbon sleeve is off in diameter in that one end?

this thread.. seemed closest to my Dreamline barrel liner o-ring issue.. 22 cal ..swaping out stx for superior standard liner..

I had no problem removing the liner.. however.. the rings stayed in the barrel.. i have a cf sleeve to replace the rings..

I fished out the one closest to the front of the liner.. there is another one.. back about 2/3rd back front the muzzle.. I tired a 25 cal patch worm.. i tried blocking the ports and adding compressed air.. ( silly.. i know but.. hey.. desperate)

if anyone has encountered the same issue.. and solved it.. please respond..

thank you

Poke them out with a long dowel, cleaning rod etc...
thank you brother.. made perfect sense.. i had an old 22lr cleaning setup in my stuff..

doing that brought on a new quandary.. there was actually was not another o-ring in there.. what i did find was... a label that said Smooth Twist Superior .. I bought the gun preowned and like new.. since there was only 1 o-ring i suspect that they changed the liner already?? or it came with only 1 o-ring.. but.. it kind of looks like there are 2 o-ring marks on the liner??

head scratcher.. I marked the rifling at each end of both liners.. they appear to be the same.. twist rate i mean..

so i have to ask is the twist rate on the STX the same as the Superior? seems like they would be different..

the new liner has a factory stamp on the liner stating it is a Superior.. the old liner has no marks.. other then the ones that look like a o-ring mark.. however the mark does not seem to rub off.. dang .. anyone got a clue??

i am shooting a email to fx to see what they think..

Thanks

The irony here is.. I first bought a new Superior Heavy liner from Utah Air Guns

Then I saw the chart from Ted.. Called them and sent the supetior heavy back (27 bucks shipping) so now I am in this liner $150 plus and I don't need it... FROWN..

They sent out the regular Superior.. Now I find out I already had a Superior liner..

Dang man..

Anyone need a brand new 500mm 22 cal Superior liner.. for attractive price or trade?

Ammo or other stuff..
