FX Impact Issues Encountered During 1st Month (FINAL UPDATE)

"Parrots"Thank you

On another look it could just be air coming out of the rifle itself and not the bottle as it continues to come out of the rifle when out. It's hard to tell 100% which though with the bottle still coming off.

If i get a chance i will make a quick video of me taking it off tomorrow.
I knew it was the regulator as the regulators pressure gauge went from 152 to zero after the bottle was removed.

Yes mine drops to 0 also. Do this is not normal then.

Is this something that will effect the gun as so far the gun has been consistent.

the air comes out of the part with the little hole that the bottle screws in to and I imagine the air goes in through and not where the regulator is adjusted like I have seen in another post with a bad o ring.

anyone else here experiencing this?

Airguns are a much more delicate assembly than a firearm. Not only do you have the same or similar moving parts you also have oring and seals and constant pressure on most of the parts. New Firearms have high failure rates such as broken extractors, firing pins, springs, etc to catastrophic failures like receivers or bolts failing. As long as we as consumers demand the edge of performance we will always have to deal with broken parts......so who wants to put a deposit down on the most trouble free airgun in the world that i will be going into production with. Some of the specs are it is 52 inches long and weight without scope should be 16 poundls......LOL anyone anyone....

wow i'm surprised to see so many fault's on a new gun, I know a few niggles are to be expected on a new product but reading this thread im shocked for there to be so many faults throughout the whole gun. Luckily for me the Impact isn't for sale here (UK) till around March-April this was on a list of 4 Bullpup's I am considering to buy. Hopefully FX will recall or replace the guns for all you guy's that have been effected and hold production till they've had some more extensive field test's in my opinion FX are more focused on making new models rather than perfecting on there already very successful best selling range from the last few years.

Thank you Scott for updating the issues. It's good to know that AOA was able to fix them in-house and they did it in a reasonable time. I believe that you are a few minutes away from AOA, so for me this would have been a round trip mailing with all the agonies that go with that. That's why I decided to wait on the FX Impact until more people able start using them. So far it seems that things quieted down without new issues popping up for those Impacts that were already delivered. Good news. I am hopeful that new shipments will be uneventful as far as problems..

Sorry if this has been posted before already by someone.

Regulator dumping air is what I 'had' on my Impact as well until I found out when it does and doesn't. Not sure if this applies to all Impacts.

Dumps all air upon removing the bottle if: the rifle is cocked (hammer spring under tension)

Does not dump air if: the rifle is not cocked after last pellet shot.

I guess most of us empty the mag (until cocking lever locks - hammer spring tension applied), remove the mag, close the cocking lever, and then remove the bottle. This process leads to the regulator dumping all air every single time.

However if you empty fire before removing the bottle, it will not dump all air.

Same happens with your Impacts?

Another issue I've found is the pellet probe coming very loose (vertically and horizontally both) after 600 shots. Found this today after fliers increased. Not sure if this had been loose from factory because I would always get at least one (usually first from mag) being a flier.

Tightened and will test tomorrow if it makes a difference.

And of course the barrel securing nut coming loose after 2 mags or less.

Lazreg - are you saying the air will not GO IN or that it LEAKS OUT ?

Sometimes when your SCBA tank is 'a bit low' a blast with the outlet valve fully open is needed to open the rifles' inlet valve.

(normally, I gradually open the SCBA outlet then continue the fill in stages - hoping to prevent heat build-up). Usually you can hear the rifles valve click open but when the incoming air pressure is lower (as above) the valve needs to be 'shocked' open (full force). Maybe your air inlet valve is stuck in the seated position which could indicate a problem with the 'O' ring or perhaps some dirt. The tiny 'O' ring (fitted on the face of the brass valve piston) is very easily damaged (I would recommend any FX owner to have a few replacements to hand !).

Just a suggestion, might not be the problem you are having anyway :)

Tell us some more details.

Verve,

after tightening the probe set screw check probe alignment to barrel bore opening---the set screw if tighten to much it will force the probe to the left of the action and the probe will rub on the left side of the opening of the barrel---over time it will wear out the oring and brass on that side., I have seen 3 impact and including mine.with that issue--if you want to call it that----> what I have done is lightly tighten till I get the probe center of the barrel --No rubbing on the edge then apply light med thread seal on top of the set screw.

I have a mod for that locking screw to test----a screw with a large delrine insert in the bottom of the screw.

Please update us on your mod as my Impact probe set screw is coming loose too often.

I bought a Wildcat. 25 and a Impact .25 in January 2018.

the wc is sent back to fx, tank leaks and even before that the gun could just not handle .25 with 10kj law in sweden.

End of January the
Impact is on its way to FX.
the pellet rod ruins the inlet and i can only shoot indoors, cause temps below + - 0 C it drops in ms/fps badly.

so slow that pallets stop mid pipe.

i suspect some factory lubricants hardens.

I will not take the risk of fixing it myself, not on new, expensive rifles, and get myself a void guarantee .

im amazed at the most time with these rifles been
Googling isues
googling fixes
watching youTube reviews, praising these rifles .

i bought them so i could use them as intended, but so far, its been 12.5 meter target practice in my apartment .

not the ideal place and supposed range on these two.

my advice- if you have regulations max 10k
don't buy .25.
it's too heavy and plain boring.

in rather shoot long range whit power than to try to lob in a .25 at 30 meters.

both my rifles failed and that's bad statistics i like FX but these two is total disappointment

thinking of buying their new flagship but hesitate cause of these events.

i thought the price tag would reduce the failrates - so our Xmas leave shooting transformed into a shooting frenzy of a total of 5 or 6 shots. .
if you don't count the pallet that WAS IN THE CHAMBER when i unboxed.

it fired when i unsafed? I touvhrd no trigger i hadn't put the mag causes i hadn't even made the manouvre that adds a bullet.

And unsafing -and hits a study book-, my wifes book on loan from the library.

then it was ok for it to be weak, hit the back of the book and just dented ir.

fx, fix these guns and i promise to buy one more Impact and a Crown.

Sadly, what just happened to you happened to me so often that I simply got tired of it and picked up shooting rimfire rifles instead.
