FX Impact hunting test video

I plan on making consistent shooting/hunting/instructional videos and this is my first go at trying to make something in imovie. Check out a couple of the slomo clips I took from yesterdays hunting with Bubblerboy and I. If you like stuff like this make sure you subscribe!

If anyone uses anything better than imovie let me know, would like to be able add arrows/circles inside my videos for pointing out fine details.

I'm bubblerboy64 (John Heckman.) Braxton and I are a most unlikely brotherhood. We are of the same age (well same numbers anyway) he's 27 and I'm 72. But this common illness, hobby, passion or what ever has connected us. Braxton has driven to Shippensburg Pa three or so times to hang out with the old man. Braxton as acquired some just fabulous optical equipment. I'll let him tell the group the details but when I say you can see a fly walking across a paper target at 500 yards I'm deadly serious (unless there is mirage) He's also got the computer skills which I lack. So we are going to try to post up some things of interest. I'm not shooting at two hundred yards as some are but we are trying to advance our skills both behind the rifle and behind the camera. I've got a go pro side shot which hopefully we can integrate into the mix. Braxton also as a drone which I am excited to see in use. I hope to learn to fly the drone and chase the pigeons around as Braxton films thru his spotting scope. Lots to learn but it's a start and really nice for me to have a younger person to help me and hopefully I'll contribute some as well. Any one in the area is welcome to join in the fun.

Thanks for chiming in John.

Yep we have lots to practice and learn, but should be able to acquire some pretty cool footage coming up with the weather cooling down (heat is the enemy of magnification).

Another funny note is that on all these videos I am backed ALL the way out on my magnification. Either I take off the magnifier or we just need to start learning to shoot like Bob and them? 😉

Any criticism is appreciated, I already see a bunch of improvements already to be made even with the making of this first video.

can’t wait to make some more now! And like John said, if anyone in Pennsylvania wants to join us you are welcome, the more the merrier!

What video equipment you using??

Kowa TSN-883 w/ 30-60x wide angle eyepiece + 1.6x magnifier giving me 40-96x zoom + iphone 10s max 2x optical zoom in 240fps 1080p slo mo.

Hell of a lot better than our first videos.

The footage clarity is fantastic.

my only suggestion is to share yourselves with the audience. The shooting is fun, and everyone gets pissed if there isnt enough of it, but the conversations and banter is what makes a video great in my opinion. Lets hear what you have to say before and after the shot sometimes.

Keep it up, i enjoyed the footage.
