The FX Wireless Chronograph

Like all things FX puts their name on, its highly overprized.

Make one cheaper

You do know they didn't just "put their name on" it. They improved on the one your thinking about by increasing its max from 500 to 1300 and created an app to be able to use a smartphone as the display wirelessly. If you think 200 is overpriced then dont buy one.

Glem: I surely, will not buy one, for my, ProChrono, does the job quite well. How many of us in this forum knows that FX products are overpriced? I have FX products, too, but they are damn overpriced and I am entitled to my 2cents.

Plus most of the time, you buy the FX product and have to make numerous adjustments and modifications to get things working as it should have been in the first place. FX needs better quality control.

Ha! I’m curious to know, if one of us designed and did all the footwork, R&D, etc, what WE ourselves would charge the Airgun community. Just like my wife, some folks don’t seem to take into account the labor costs invested. Labor costs in all the R&D, the marketing. Heck, if I got up in the middle of the night to change something in the CAD files I’d charge for it, lol.

Would you sell this thing for under $200? Under $100? Nah, don’t think so. I think the $200 cost for the convenience it provides is huge.

Having that said, would I buy one? Nope. I figure all my chrony testing will be done in my garage, and accuracy testing is out on the range. But that’s me.

I picked up two from UAG last week... one for me and the other for my Bro. It works well but... Can anyone tell me if it will calculate HIGH/LOW; AVERAGE; STANDARD DEVIATION and EXTREME SPREAD? I am not sure how to find the above data within the application… If it is even doable. If not an upgrade to the application to include that summary data would be awesome.

It would be nice if the chrony can also be placed near a target to obtain velocity readings in order to calculate/predict pellet drop/rise over a distance range (very helpful when using ballistic programs and creating range cards). I’m thinking that with its Bluetooth connectivity it won’t be possible if the target distance is too great, like say, 35 yards. And I agree that it’s overpriced.

So, you spend $2k on an air rifle and you're going to worry about $200 for this little jewel? Be happy you didn't leap on the LabRadar.

I did try a LabRadar and it was too powerful for my home range. Metal sheds really messed with it.

I just recieved my FX today and if the reports of its accuracy are correct it will be perfect.

$200 for the convenience of never having to use a pain in the butt optical chrony again is a bargain!
