Got these in the post .. thanks to Liam at Air-Fective for making them exactly as per my drawings and spec. The end product design and fit is perfect and just how I wanted it all to be :)

These things can be tricky to make the first time without the rifle on hand and Liam has done an excellent job getting it all spot on.

It is a complete replacement shroud with no parts retained from stock shrouds with new muzzle/air-strippers (design differs between .22 and .25)

Both .22 and .25 shrouds are same length (10mm longer than stock shrouds - fits well in the case) however .22 shroud has 3 baffles & sound muffling material in it hence moderator is not really required for it. Moderator is primarily for .25 but fits .22 as well. Both shrouds are also vented at the shooter end.

This setup is a lot quieter than the stock shrouds. Sound Meter app with the phone placed one foot ahead in line of the moderator is showing:
- .22 (920fps 18.1gr) with moderator 73 DB
- .22 (920fps 18.1gr) without moderator 77 DB
- .25 (xxxfps 25.4gr) with moderator 77-78 DB
Of course this is subjective due to measuring equipment used etc and later I will do a video review of stock vs this with a proper sound meter.

gunsnknivesNice looking shroud. Do they make them for .30 cal?

.25 and .30 barrel lengths and OD are identical so the design will be same. Contact Liam, he should be able to make you one.

You should also give him him some measurements such as barrel OD, length, extendable shroud end cap hole diameter, and if it has 1/4 UNF threaded like the others. Other than the shroud end cap hole diameter, all else should be same as .25 but it's advisable to measure and communicate nonetheless.

Below are sound measurements in an enclaved 30yards x 12 yards rectangular backyard with 7ft height fencing on 3 sides and 20ft+ high brick walls behind the rifle. How much sound is from hitting the 2000+ pellet lead and rubber mulch inside the box, I don't know. Levels measured near the target varied due to the area of the box the pellet landed. At 2 yards distance there was less than 1db variance between shots.

Impact .22: 18gr JSB at 930FPS, 140bar reg
Wildcat .22: 16gr JSB at 915FPS, 125bar reg

Impact .22 CF shroud with baffles & ballistic nylon - sound levels at 2 yards - no moderator - 85.1db< >85.7dbt

Impact .22 CF shroud with baffles & ballistic nylon - sound levels at 20 yards - no moderator - 76.5db< >78.9db

Thought I'd test the Wildcat .22 as well and results are similar, considering the designs are identical. 86db at 2 yards distance.

WIldcat .22 with baffles & ballistic nylon in the standard shroud - sound levels at 30 yards - no moderator - 76.2< >78.7db

Will post results with FX adjustable shroud on .22 next.
