FX Impact Compact .22, Power seems to low?

Just got my first FX airgun, an Impact Compact, a few days ago. Came to me shooting 16g JSB's in the 860's with the regulator set at 150 bar according to the gauge, which seems to be pretty close. I hoped that a simple hammer spring adjustment would push JSB 18's to 880-890 fps range. Didn't happen. The hammer spring adjuster was already on max setting and I gradually turned up the hammer spring until maxing it out with little to no change. Do I need to turn the regulator up? As I said, my first experience with FX, but I would've thought the 150 bar reg setting would have been sufficentl for the power level I was looking for.

Yep, I'm sure. My first FX, not my first PCP by any stretch. (No offense taken, it's a fair question👍)

Yeah, I was surprised he sent it out also. You'd think 16 gr pellets in the 860's with the reg set at 150 would've raised some questions. I guess he ran a few shots thru it, had a nice tight ES and figured all was good, guess he didn't notice the regulator setting. Tried to call this afternoon, left voicemail, haven't heard back yet.

Shot it from 150 bar down to 120 this afternoon hoping the power might go up as the tank and regulator pressure went down. Nope, steadily declining shot string as you'd expect. Figured what the heck, I'll turn the reg down to 100 bar, now shooting 18's in the 750's.

Send him a email he will answer first thing in the morning, that's been the easiest way for me to contact him. I'm sure he will take care of you he's a stand-up guy but very busy.

Please let us know what's up with your Compact when you get it sorted, I was never a Impact fanboy, but when this Compact came out I got sucked in and am really enjoying it, there are things I'd change if I could but that goes to say with every airgun I've owned.

Problem solved. Pulled the barrel this morning, thinking maybe something was amiss with the transfer port. Turns out there are two holes in it (I assume this is normal). A small one, for who knows what, that's evidently suppose to be on top, and the "real transfer port". Turns out my barrel was reversed and the small hole was acting as the TP. Now shooting 18's in the 890's with reg set at 90 bar

Mine has duel transfer ports too, I saw a video from Ernest about them and being able to just flip the barrel for bid velocity drop without the need to retune your gun if that was desirable, but I was surprised when I saw the second port myself as what I gathered it was something he was working on producing not FX.

Anyways still shouldn't have came to you with the reg set that high,,, shame on Ken.
