FX IMPACT BARREL CHANGE

Hello Everyone,

I have a FX IMPACT X .25 700mm barrel.

Recently I want to switch to 700mm .22 slug liner. Can I just buy the .22 slug liner and .22 probe to finish it?

Or I need to buy following parts for .22 used.

1. Jam

3. SST ADAPTER

4.BRASS TRANSPER BARREL INLET

5.SLEEVE

Yes, you need at least the brass port and liner. Not sure about the SST adapter. For sure the sleeve and jam nut are the same. Put a WTB request on here for a 500mm STX barrel in 22 to the the parts needed. Make sure you get the STX version. The older ST barrels are not the same setup. I would assume anything 700mm demands a premium and the 500mm parts in 22 are likely at the lower range price wise. You may get lucky.

Thanks for Glem.Chally & zGerman reply. It's helpful

I don't know why the FX will not sell the barrel kit for slug uses? People who want to switch to slug liner by different caliber have to buy the barrel kit for pellet first then go to buy the slug liner? It makes no sense.

By the way, I found .22 brass inlet and probe in this website.

Has anyone who has both .22 & .25 cal can make sure the SST adapter & jam are same parts?

Or anyone want to sell the barrel kit for .22 slug liner?

From personal experience the jam nut on .22&.25 are not the same, .22 has orings and the .25 doesn’t.

As for sst, I haven’t personally tried to do this, but the oring size in this part are also different, so I am speculating here, but I think it’s different per calibre.

Please refer to the FX support website, in particular the STX diagram, it listed the orings per calibre kit.

Technically the only interchangeable part is the sleeve, with engineering tolerance being what it is I would not disassemble the barrel, however if one has the .25 kit then you could reuse the shroud and standard silencer and purchase the .22 probe, mag and sleeve/liner and save a few dollars not buying a separate shroud.

Living in South Africa with a 15:1 USD exchange rate forces even wealthy people to consider cost, I have all calibres except .30, so I have been down this road, I picked up a 600mm .22 stx barrel only for 131 USD, slapped it into my 600 .25 shroud, used probe and mag for 78 USD, I saved a little money and the hassle of diss/reassembly for calibre changes.

If all else fails, this is a hobby after all, you could buy the various parts and make them work, there isn’t a rule against it, and it would be a fun project at least!

My friend Bill Greathouse who was grabbing with my friend Jim Gaske what barrels Tj for the Warp charges. He is about to barrel for FX. They will be able to shoot pellets and slugs without problems. and more than accurate. TJ barrels price per inch. $ 5.70 Many people start inventing and buying a TJ without giving it the mechanization that the barrel actually needs to be more than accurate. my friend is 100% sure of what he does and is willing to return the money to every customer who is not satisfied with the precision of the TJ. I am going to upload some photos of some shots that I took with my Warp with a TJ barrel of 15 ”inch length at 100m with slug that I made myself at home. 46.2gr. Another one that Tj barrels should know is that the more speed the more precise it is
