Fx impact and power plenum

I was trying the jsb ko slugs 25gr but with the hammer maxed out and the reg at 140bar VA all the Way out, it was shooting 960-970fps and when turned up the reg pressure the fps drops. Is the hammer to light?

Any experience whit that?

Which version of Impact do you have? I have a factory Mk2 Power Plenum gun and with everything maxed out (Hammer adjuster and valve on the 4 ring) it can handle the regulator up to it's max of 170bar. As soon as the valve adjuster is turned in the reg overpowers the hammer. (as you'd expect)

Mine is in .25 but the mechanics are the same. Have you adjusted the hammer tension to just off binding on the wheel?

I have also tested an Impact with power plenum that could not produce real high powers.

I could take it to 915 fps in .22 with 25 grain redesigned pellets at 150 reg pressure while gradually increasing the hammer tension but it was the limit.

I have the mk2 shooting the 34s 910fps req 125bar, 74shots per fill (250)bar still a little play on hammer spring adjustment, valve stop on 3rd line

If your gun is .22 caliber you will get a large gain by porting the brass inlet and probe. There is less gain as bore size increases but there is still gain.

The new hammer spring for the power plenum is 52 mm.

Use the old hammer spring 57 mm long and you will get more speed.

Do not raise your regulator pressure too much.

Will i still be able to tune it down to shot 18gr pelets.?

Yes it is ported

It will be better if you flare it round to cover the entire 7mm port that feeds it. I'm only referring to the entrance of the port but blend the flare down into the port without making the area where the pellet slides across any wider.
