FX impact 30 700mm

Well. It just came in. First impressions are unbelievable. The side lever n trigger are super smooth. Pellets are HUUUUGE. After I get this baby to bed I’ll be topping her off n mounting the scope. I’ll try to video some groups as is as well as after cleaning the barrel n after tuning. I’ve got 45 and 50gr jsbs. Also first impression of the Athlon Argos btr 6-24x50 are great. We shall see how it is mounted.

First attempt at 50yds are yielding about a half dollar group (with a crappy rest n not trying that hard). So far still more than happy. I can’t get it to shoot over 150fps with the 45gr yet though. I pushed the reg up to 150, tuned the hammer spring to ever-so-slightly less than true max, n turned the valve stop wide open. So avg 845fps. I’d like to push 900+ if possible. Any ideas?

The gauges that come on Impacts are not accurate and can be reading 30 bar above the actual pressure. That's why you see so many people switch to Wika gauges.

To give an idea of what's possible with some porting and additional 6 gram hammer weight I average about 950 fps with the 51 grain JSB at 170 bar.

Yes, the FX gauges on the Impact are not accurate. On my new Impact, one gauge was way off while the other is fairly close. So I purchased two Wika gauges. Guess what? One of them does not function consistently. After installing the new Wika gauge in the location to display tank pressure, the gauge needle did not move. A few pellets fired through the rifle and the needle moved to around 100 bar and stuck there; even though there was 200 Bar in the rifle. Putting more air into the tank had no effect on the gauge needle. Even after removing the gauge, the needle did not move for several minutes. Plus the gauge display cover was seriously scratched. Now I have a $45 paper weight.

The other Wika gauge I purchased does function, but it was off by nearly 40 Bar as received. Not at all what I expected!

I never knew they had problems. Both of mine were dead on perfect compared to a digital gauge.

So how high might it actually be safe to set the reg? If my hammer is maxed out and my valve stop is wide open and I’m still only getting 845fps with 45gr, the only thing left to do is increase the reg pressure...
