FX Impact .25 Tune from MKII’s to 25.39gr Kings

I decided to shoot the 25gr Kings and save the MKII’s. Weeks ago, I tuned to 880 FPS with super tight groups at 50 yards. Lots of fun, at first, but became boring. There are no groundhogs left and the cats get the chipmunks before I can. Been shooting paper.

The wind was calm this evening, so I finished tuning, and made minor elevation and windige adjustments at 75 yards. The ChairGun holdover is dead on. My last eight shots hit little splatter target patches on cardboard. I couldn’t miss. I was going to recheck my scope center at 50 yards, but after recording my pellet speed and Impact settings, decided I needed air.

Valve stop: 3-1/2 lines showing Hammer spring: 5 Pellet speed: 892 FPS Bottle pressure FX Gauge: just under 150 bar

Here’s the surprise! Reg pressure: 111 bar (EDMU Edgun gauge) reg pressure has always been 132 bar from factory...never been touched. My last shots were off regulator. The EDMU will stay at the regulator until I tune the 30cal barrel. EDMU is good....raised 132bar when I filled the gun.

Ain’t life grand,

The EDMU is below, to show the Reg pressure. The barrel is 600mm ST.......FX Impact .25, purchased Nov. 2016, with a second barrel in .30. When I’m done tuning for both 25gr and 34gr .25 pellets, the EDMU will be replaced with the FX gauge. I will record the FX gauge and equivalent EDMU pressure readings so I can adjust reg pressure without swapping gauges. Then the EDMU can do it’s thing with the bottle pressures up front.

I was surprised to learn the difference between the FX gauge on the bottle (just under 150 bar), and the off regulator pressure of 111 bar. When I filled the bottle to 220 bar, the EDMU,at the reg, rose and stopped at the factory setting of 132 bar.

I’m not concerned with the FX gauge not reading the same as the EDMU, as long as I know the equivalent.

Regards,

John

ps. then I get to do it again, for the .30.......fun
