just notice the .22 barrel shroud is making contact with the Valve Control Knob when the shroud is not extended. No problem with the .25 or .30 shroud. Anyone have the same issue?

I don't have a .22 telescopic shrouded barrel for my Impact (yet), but I do know from my own testing that the forth graduation dash is the max for valve control. Anything beyond that is unneeded. So, perhaps, screw it in until it is at least even with that dash, and see if that prevents the two from touching.

Ted, I turn the Valve control to even with the forth dash and shroud is still touching.
The shroud now has a small scratch on the finish from the contact of the valve control
The shroud finally clear the valve control just pass the third dash

I had the same idea but I didn't want to leave the endcap with such a "deep" open thread so I had washer on both end of the tube. I had to modify one of the washer to allow air to enter the shroud.
FX, How about make the inside tube 4mm longer?
