Parrots, where did you have the adaptor made to fit the Huggett Magna to the FX Impact .30? And how much extra length does it add? Thanks

Parrots, can you speak to the relative sound suppression of the Huggett Magna vis-à-vis the factory stackable-baffle moderator on the fixed shroud FX Impact .30? I have been using the factory moderator w/all four baffles (plus the end cap and thread piece) on my FX Impact .30, and I gotta say, it's pretty damn quiet. I was just wondering if it was worth buying the Huggett Magna.

Have not been on her for some time, apologies, the extra length added is just the length of the Huggett.
I only shoot sub 12, so sound comparison might not be any good to you, but with the Huggett i only hear the action and nothing else, a friend of mine in the UK makes the 1/2" UNF adapters. I don't have the stackable baffle moderator currently.

Hi all,
I've just bought an huggett Magna for my fx impact and it's definitively the best option to quiet the gun.
The Magna is 1/2 unf so I've also bought an adapter for the bobcat and it fits perfect with the impact fixed shroud.

@marcella69: I sold my extended shroud for that reason, it isn't easy to use the huggett for it. I even have Neil make for me one, still have a hard time. After I sold my extended shroud, I got 2 fixed shroud from AoA (.25 & .30). So, that being said I can use 8 baffles and 2 endcap....still not quiet!!! I guess my expectations is too high.
I go ahead buy the standard huggett .30cal, and it really good for my ear in .25cal...not .30cal. I was going use for both, but it still loud...so I buy the Magna. Now, I can use the Magna for both .25 & .30 fixed shroud instead of the factory shroud.
I don't know about the thread much, but all my huggett (I have 3 total) can fit in my Bobcat MK2, Impact fixed shroud, soon fit on my Steamline with an adapter.
I bought one before and it fit straight to the Impact BARREL...not on the Bobcat, so you have to ask really carefully before you buy.

Thank you for that, vudongthoai . Apparently, Huggett now makes a version of the Magna that threads directly on the Impact .30 fixed shroud (or so AOA tells me). An alternative to this is to buy the version of the Magna that threads on the barrel and get an adapter to accommodate the fixed shroud. (These are the links of which I was trying to get a confirmation.) My issue was whether the Magna was quieter than the factory stackable baffle moderator. Thanks for settling that for me. I will be getting the Magna now!

Yes, Ginuwine; but sometimes the backorders are quite long. I just received notice that my Omega air compressor has shipped after waiting almost two months, and I have a Huggett Magna that's been on backorder for going on three months now! Oh well, the wait just makes me want it more
