Tuning FX Fixed My .35 and How It's Doing...

I previously returned my .35 M3 for service because the first reg was leaking and during service FX found another leak due to a torn oring. FX called me to let me know what occurred and what they were doing to address the problems.

During the conversation I just asked to have them tune the rifle for 81gr JSB or FX pellets. I was told not an issue and after leak testing I would have it back. I received the rifle a few days later and was extremely happy to get it back. Over the next few days I noticed there seemed to still be a slight leak.

I called FX and they promptly sent me a return label but I saw a video from 910 airguns of common leak points. I started to spray my leak detector and wasn't able to find any leaks. I let the rifle sit again for a few days and no more issues, go figure.
I was finally able to get to the range today and boy was I pleased!!

The center is 2 full magazines at 75 yards; the side and bottom were me just shooting to see if I could just put pellets where I wanted them to go for fun. My first reg is set at 175bar and the second at 130 giving me an average of @880fps. I decided since FX doesn't have the heavy liner for the .35 to stick with just pellets until the liner is released and now I am confident the rifle is ready for the hunt.

I have not had any drop in bar and think the previous loss was everything settling in. Extremely pleased with the service and even the follow up with the willingness to just get the rifle back to check for leaks. Great job and the results show...

UPDATE: Had to send the M3 back for another leak. Sent it back and was received by FX on the 8th of November and still waiting to be looked at. This leak was at the grub screw where the new angled manometer is to placed but didn’t matter how tight it was the screw still leaked. Anyway, it’s under warranty and that’s why I sent it back to be fixed and hopefully this will be the last return.

I just found out, late though, that Utah AG had 600mm barrels for it but are sold out now.

Thanks for the info on the 2 regulators. I just got my 35 and was wondering what other guns were set at. From the factory mine was set as follows: 1st reg 175, 2nd reg 150. But I only have NSA 93 grain slugs. Pellets arriving tomorrow. With my macro wheel at 16, micro at 3.5, valve adjuster on the 4th line. This was only netting those slugs 700FPS. Not impressive but for now I am thinking I want to shoot pellets.

I kept the regulators the same. So then I got my pellets and adjusted the micro to 4.4 or so and macro on 15. That is very close to max hammer spring on this gun. Just a tad more on the micro wheel at 4.5 it fails to cock sometimes. Then I opened up the valve to where I would expect there to be a 5th line. I guess it is almost or all the way open at 11.6 mm

With this I didn't even have to re-zero from the slugs to pellets at 25 yards and was getting 898-905 FPS. I am sure if I tinker more I can maximize power and conserve a bit more air. But this will do for now and it is about 147 ft lbs.

Glad you got it dialed in and I definitely understand. I’m of the mindset of just shooting pellets until the heavy liner is available. I also found out that the 600mm barrels are now available for purchase; they ran out already but at least they are starting to show some “love” to the .35…

I'm using the Ronin now too. What do you have? I'm going to sound test vs my 25 cal Wildcat tomorrow. Just wondering what others are using.

I’m using a Ronin but I just received my new Emperor from Donnyfl day before yesterday. I’m just waiting on getting my rifle back now; spoke with Newman from FX on Wednesday and he got the leak taken care of so now its just waiting on their shipping department. I’ll be able to do a comparison between the two shortly there after…

👍

Thanks for sharing. The Ronin is definitely a big step up from the stock moderator. But it is definitely not quiet and I don't expect it to be. It would be nice to know what the Emperor provides over the Ronin. I have an Emporer but it's not threaded for the same caliber and I can't compare. I look forward to what you find out

Got my M3 back and had to try the Emperor vs the Ronin; can honestly say the Emperor is a huge upgrade and much less noise. Newman from FX worked on my M3 and it’s consistent at 906fps with the 81.2gr JSB’s-1st reg is at 195 and 2nd is at 135ish. This is at 16.
Didn’t shoot any groups yet but just getting the fps and checking sound. I didn’t have a decibel meter as I was doing this in my garage. Typically in my garage the sound is much louder but after watching a video from one of our members and he was tuning a .35 with a Emperor on it, I had to get one. I also use barrel support wedges to mitigate the extra weight.

Thinking I may need to get another Emperor for my .30 setup as well. I tried this Emperor on my .30 MK2 and it was phenomenal. Went to my backyard range and only heard the 50gr pellets hitting the targets; no crack from pellet leaving the barrel. And, these are going at 920fps…

Went out today and man was I pleased. Installed my scope and only had to adjust 8 clicks down to zero after getting it back from FX. Had the macro wheel at 8 and had 871fps consistently; hole in hole with the JSB 81.02gr pellets.(side note-ordered pellets from Zan at $11 for 100 and with shipping was still cheaper than ordering here in US if you can find them).

Regulators are staying exactly where they were and have had NO leak’s. With that in mind I really hope FX comes up with a slug liner soon as I would love to see how slugs work with this setup.
