FX Dreamline Dreamlite 2000 Shot followup

I did see this video a while back, the only problem is if you adjust the second stage to the point to where the trigger will not stick you’re going to experience several millimeters of travel on the second stage, when you want it to just break crisply. Ernest has another video out there about the impact trigger where he mentions the sticking of the trigger in the second stage is a normal thing due to the design. Start at 6:30

Perhaps there is is a difference in the crown trigger, but it looks the same to me and he did adjust the second stage and it did stick in his video. I guess is just going to come down to a matter of preference and how you want the second stage of your trigger to feel.

I would really like to hear from other FX owners to see if their second stage of their triggers stick as well.

Happens on my impact too. I can't believe a $2000 trigger would stick on 2nd stage. I'm used to having the 1st stage reset whenever I didn't fire the gun. So having it stuck on 2nd stage is annoying. I did adjust my trigger and it reset back sometime. If I adjust it too much then get creep on 2nd stage. The trigger on a $450 marauder is way better imo. Never had a problem with it sticking on 2nd stage and break clean. IDK why a $2000 gun is like this.

My FX Crown, Streamline, and Wildcat at one point the triggers sticked. I made slight adjustments on the trigger tensions and pull lengths and it fixed the issue. My Fx DreamPup hasn’t had that issue yet. I think you’d be able to adjust that out if you played with the trigger adjustments a little without affecting crispness of the trigger break. Mine actually got better. JMO. A simple tweak could fix that. Ultimately I think I just shortened the first stage length of pull a tiny bit, or something along that line.

Nice informative videos. I hope I dont need to reference them too soon since I get delivery of a classic today. My first pcp btw. I am a bit overwhelmed with information since I started research five months ago. Do the fx rifles come with manuals for complete teardown? or are they available for purchase? Thanks,

Mike

There’s nothing about a teardown in the manual the FX rifles come with. We are lucky though to have a wealth of knowledge online. A quick Google search will reveal more information than you can handle. Congratulations and happy shooting

The amount of second stage travel is all personal preference. If you want to adjust it to where the trigger resets the first stage without sticking and have a long pull on the second stage... well that’s your choice. I can say I work with current and former operator snipers and if anyone would know how to setup a trigger it would be them and they all agree that you set your trigger breaks to where you want them according to the feel you like, because the target that is about to be destroyed isn’t going to give two hoots what your trigger setup is. The best ones I know have the second stage set from 2-4 oz so you be the judge.

So it’s all just a matter of opinion and if Ernest says it is designed not to reset, who am I to argue? This was just meant to be informative so people won’t be shocked to find out things that are inherent to the design and think their new $1,200 rifle is defective. Because hell I can buy a really nice complete 308 setup for less and then be shooting 400+ yards like it’s nothing, but we chose high end airguns because of convenience and you can shoot them in your house.

happy shooting 😀
