FX Crown upgrades and questions

I owned a impact then sold it to buy the crown. IMO the crown adjustments and access to the major components for repair has easier access on the Crown. I think I shoot better with the crown because of so many years of shooting a standard rifle configuration. I found the bull pup is a little more sensitive to inconsistencies of the way you hold the gun. My groups have tightened up with the crown over the impact. I really like my green laminate stock also.

@AirSupply Thank you for the clear and concise explanation and follow ups. Much more clear now. Ernest was also very kind to give me further clarifications.

I wonder why the 700mm is called a "sniper" version? The extra 100mm length (about 4 inches) should not be a major factor in improving accuracy. I assume the barrel thickness is not significantly (if by any) more. 10-15 fps higher velocity is a given but again, that's not related directly to accuracy unless the velocity was previously lacking for a particular pellet. One thing it may help with is: the shooter. Longer barrels are easier to aim and keep on the target. What am I missing? What is the history/demand behind the 700mm?

So, if there are no discernable advantages to the 700mm vs 600mm, then the smart thing would be IMHO to get the standard 600mm X-twist barrel/liner that way I can swap it out from my Impact to a (future) Crown and vice versa. Also, I would assume that in the future the liners for the 600mm versions (with various twist rates, etc) would be more available for purchase vs. the 700mm barrel version.

fe7565 Fx had some of the 700mm barrels at extreme benchrest. Matt Dubber came 2nd with one in 30cal. After the competition AOA sold a couple of these Impacts and referred to them as Sniper Barrels. I don’t know if that is officially what fx calls them.
There could be some acccuracy gains in the fact to achieve the same velocity with a pellet you need a softer hammer strike and lower reg pressure. Less recoil. Also less air turbulence around the pellet.

The Crown barrel in 25&30cal is 600mm
There won’t be anything to stop people fit the 700mm barrel to the Crown I can think of. But I think it has been designed for the Impact.
