FX Crown safety question

I'd bet it's a trigger adjustment but not knowing what they worked on or your comfort level, I'd hate to send you down the wrong path. Look for video's on adjusting the Crowns Trigger. I don't have a crown but I'm pretty sure the trigger function is the same as many other FX's and I would bet that the screw behind the trigger block needs to be adjusted. (Unless I've had too many mower cocktails, I think the wildcat and impact and others have essentially the same adjustment points on the action...

Details on adjustment screws;

A; 1st stage travel

B; 2nd stage break

C; safety stop adjustment

Pardon my ineptitude, but how in the HELL does an air rifle that costs nearly $2000.00 leave the factory and end up in the hands of a consumer with such an Obvious defect??!? A lesser branded rifle would be raked over the coals! If one were to purchase a Lamborghini that failed to fire on all cylinders off the showroom floor, would it get a pass because, well,It's a Lamborghini? If the answer is that there are simply just such a large number of Lamborghini's (or,Gasp! FX airguns)being sold that the law of averages dictate that there are bound to be more than an occasional lemon...thats a piss poor excuse! I'm certain that I'm not going to win any popularity contest here but its just my opinion/observation,please don't crucify me.

Mike.

This is the reason I have yet buy an FX airgun. They have far to many issues from what I can tel just from reading around. I do understand that this can happen from time to time and even though it should be something rare. But from what I can tell is would seem that there are a lot of minor issues that can be taken care of if the guys down at FX would go over each airgun with a fine tooth comb before shipping out. Also bad on the dealer as well for not going over the airgun. IMO FX airguns are not worth even half what you pay for them. I would pay the price if I knew I was getting something worth $2000. FX is just not worth it.

I must be some glutton for punishment. Half of my 12 PCPs are FX rifles and bull pups. Then again, I have not had any manufacturer related issues with any of my FXs. I did send my Wildcat back to AoA for an issue that I created.

I really love my AGT Vulcan Tactics as anyone familiar with my prior post can attest. However, truth be told, my FX Impacts (x3) -- a rifle I never thought I would own just a year ago -- are my first choice when shooting on a daily basis, as I do.

Lucky guy. I have yet to get an FX that isn't a total disaster.

When I received my Impact it would fire when on safe. Discovered that by accident without injuries. Folks are right. $2K for a rifle that's dangerously defective when received?? Come on folks!! Utah AIrguns paid for it to be shipped back to them and then repaired it and sent it back to me. It worked fine then. Holding my breath with my FX Wildcat II. Loving it and it works fine. I do rub my lucky rabbit's foot everyday though.

I realize that this thread is a bit older, but I just had this happen to me. FX Crown fires while on safety (no harm done thank goodness)! This is 100% not acceptable and there is no room for excuses when it comes to ANY rifle firing while on safety. A safety should be an independent mechanical lockout mechanism that is not subject to “adjustment” or “fixing”. If this happened on a firearm it would be front page news. Air gun owners need to DEMAND better when it comes to basic safety related design. Having a valve leak or an O ring wear is one thing....a safety not working is a completely different matter!

I’m brand new to air Guns so my perspective is not tainted by any manufacturer (this was my first ever air rifle!). If a rifle fires while on safety or the rifle trigger can be adjusted by anyone to the point of safety failure then the gun has a serious mechanical design flaw. This is a huge liability for everyone involve.

As responsible gun owners, regardless of how it’s powered, we need to keep this sport safe for everyone so it can grow and prosper for a long time to come.

Looks like this issue is still ongoing. I bought my FX Crown just yesterday 06/06/2020, and this morning while checking the safety, it fired whilst "safe".

Glad to say this was during a routine inspection in a controlled and safe environment, and not while I was out at one of my perms, surrounded by livestock and pets.

Not sure what sort of quality control is going on at FX, but I would not expect any firearm to leave the place of manufacture, to end up in the public domain with such a critical fault.

Needless to say, I will be returning the rifle as soon as possible this week...
