Friend has the third gen. Crown and we pulled the barrel, (for a jammed pellet) and he went to loosen the reared most screw and it was barely snug and appears to be lock tited?, is this normal from factory.

Yes it’s normal. It’s function is to plug the hole that was used to machine the transfer port from the plenum to the barrel.

There was a little black stuff(not lock tite) from the factory on mine the 1st time I took removed it. I found adding just a little lock tite helped keep the screw from being loose in the threaded hole, but not necesary. After you've removed and re-tighted the screw many times, they tend to make a solid impression in the brass of the barrel that the screw locks down into and won't move or back out.

Thanks guy’s, didn’t know if that screw was to secure rear of barrel?, and should it be tight, snug, etc.
